    Agurie-no-Mori is a roadside station-like facility within the Akiu Village situated on the Akiu Highway. The place has a food court which offers dishes made from beef tongue, wild vegetables, and Akiu vegetables, and sweets such as ice cream, etc. There is also a small farmer’s market, a shop which sells various items and souvenirs, and Kikusuian store. Outside the food court on the terrace is a foot spa, Chapporin, which uses green tea to warm your feet!

    お土産も、露地ものも買える いわゆる道の駅なんですが、地場野菜等の他観光客にも好適な土産が買えて良かったです。 お菓子の種類も多くて助かりました。価格帯は少し高めかな? 子供を遊ばせる広場もあります。

    The Mitsui Outlet Park Sendai Port features a diverse array of shops, foods, and restaurants, and is famous for having Tohoku’s biggest Ferris wheel— “Port Flower”. The Ferris wheel underwent renewal in summer of 2017, and now features colorful LED lights which turn on at dusk. It’s a great spot to enjoy with family, friends, or that special someone.

    A shopping mall to the east of and a one minute walk from Izumi-Chuo Station on the Sendai Subway Namboku Line. The mall is connected to Izumi-Chuo Station via a pedestrian deck on the second floor and a passageway below the deck on the first. The mall is occupied by a variety of tenants, including fashionable apparel shops, lifestyle goods stores, restaurants, and cafes. The mall has a particularly large selection of women's clothing shops, stores for children, food shops, and other establishments aimed at women in their 20s to young mothers with children. There are also culture classes such as workshops and seminars as well as art school classes for children held here.

    泉中央駅直結の商業施設です。 隣接するアリオとも上空通過で繋がっていて、両施設を行き来する人は多いと思います。 食料品エリアは混み合いますが、それ以外のフロアは空いているので買い物はしやすいです。もう少し出店する店が良いと人が集まるかな？

    Akiu Craft Park consists of nine craft “households” that live in the village while continuously applying themselves to their craft and producing authentic wares. Those with reservations can experience koma (top for spinning play) decoration, kokeshi wooden doll decoration, chopstick lacquering, handkerchief indigo dyeing, and jigsaw woodworking. There are also seasonal events that visitors can enjoy while walking through the site. It’s about 15 minutes by car from the Sendai Minami Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway.

    This is a lovely place to do crafts or to purchase crafts. The one downside is that it is hard to get here by public transit. Worth a stop if you are coming to the area!

    A supermarket in Akiu closely tied to the local community. Ohagi sweet rice balls and ready-to-eat side dishes alone make up half of the store's annual sales. The ready-to-eat corner is filled with the store's renowned Akiu ohagi and around 5,000 of these popular, tasty treats are sold on a given weekday. The store also boasts a record of 25,000 ohagi sold in a single day. The store sells standard anko sweet bean, kinako toasted soybean flour, and sesame seed ohagi in packages of varying number. In addition, from October to May, the store also sells unusual natto fermented soybean ohagi.

    This is a commercial facility in Wakabayashi Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. It has been opened as a “food kitchen” near Sendai City Central Wholesale Market. The inside of the store is bright and has a sophisticated atmosphere like a European market. There are 31 selective stores providing goods such as fresh fish from Sanriku and Matsushima, processed fish products, local agricultural produce, and other product goods and the center is crowded with many shoppers every day. Seasonal seafood direct from the production area is especially recommended. The center is perfect for lunch offering a seafood-on-rice bowl (kaisendon) with a large amount of fresh seafood and a restaurant where visitors can taste authentic Sendai beef tongue.

    A multipurpose center which aims to promote agriculture by making it easy for people to come in contact with it. The center sells seedlings and potted plants and also has facilities such as a plaza for holding events and a self-service restaurant. The center also has a farm cultivated by city residents and offers cooking classes. The facility has a rose and plum garden and holds rose and plum blossom festivals when the plants are in bloom. During the festivals, a variety of street stalls open for business and staff give tours of the gardens at specified times.

It is located in a jointly developed, new town district called “Izumi Park Town” and was opened in 2008. Visitors can also enjoy shopping in the Izumi Premium Outlet which is next to the facility. On the spacious floors, there are a variety of shops such as fashion, restaurants, food, and household goods. Also it is equipped with a free large parking lot for visitors to enjoy a relaxing shopping experience the whole day.

The third floor children’s toilet is based on a candy house to encourage children to want to enter on their own.

    This tofu shop is located on Prefectural Route 62 in Mukaijuku, Nagafukuro, Akiumachi, Taihaku Ward, Sendai City. It sells tofu, yuba (tofu skins), and aburaage (fried tofu) made by combining Akiu’s great water with a variety of soybeans including Miyagi Shirome, a cultivar of Miyagi prefecture, green soybeans from Iwate Prefecture, and black soybeans from Hokkaido. Another popular offering is the shop’s takedofu, which combines silken tofu curds with bamboo extract and comes in a green bamboo container.

    秋保温泉と秋保大滝の間にあるお豆腐屋さん。 朝9時に数人並んでいるのを発見。 帰りに寄ってみました。 お豆腐や湯葉を籠に入れていると、来る人来る人皆さん三角揚げをオーダー。 そしてすぐに食べていかれます。 早速私もオーダー。 店内に小さなイートインスペースがあり、お醤油やお箸などもおいてあります。 揚げたての三角揚げ。 香りも良くて美味しかったです。

    Ganguan Kokeshiya is a kokeshi (wooden doll) workshop located inside the Akiu Craft Park near Yumoto Park, Yumoto, Yumotouehara, Akiu Town, Taihaku Ward, Sendai City. There are traditionally made kokeshi dolls and originally created dolls on display and for sale. As well as seeing how the dolls are made, visitors can also spend about 30 to 60 minutes having a go at painting the dolls, when booking at least one day in advance.

    仙台東インターのすぐそばなので、高速に乗るのに便利です。また広い駐車場があるので車を止めるのにも便利です。お座敷も広くゆったり、牛タンも1人前、１．５人前と量が選べます。今回は牛タンシチューをいただきました。 サラダ、テールスープ、ご飯が付きボリュウム満点。お肉も柔らかくさっぱりしたお味でした。ただお子様メニューがないので、シチューをご飯にかけて食べさせました。
