A tourism-oriented farm which primarily grows flowers located in Sera Town, Sera County, Hiroshima Prefecture. Here visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers and enjoy a relaxing, soothing time. In spring, some 750 thousand tulips come into bloom; in summer, 1.1 million sunflowers; in fall, 25 thousand dahlias consisting of 450 varieties blossom on the farm’s grounds, dyeing the farm’s gentle hills vivid colors. Different flower festivals are also held at the park in line with each flower’s blooming period. There’s also a restaurant and café where you can have a meal while enjoying the beautiful scenery, and the farm offers hands-on classes. Visitors are permitted to come with pets.

This is one of my favorite spots to enjoy tulips in the Hiroshima area. So many different types of tulips is so many beautiful colors! Entrance fee is ¥800, but it’s worth it! I also love coming...

A nationally-run park located in Mikkaichi Town, Shobara City, Hiroshima Prefecture which encompasses Kunikane Pond, the largest pond in the prefecture, and which is surrounded by Japanese red pine forest. The park has a playground area filled with huge play structures, as well as a gorgeous natural grass lawn, and it is a popular destination for families with children. Flowers such as tulips, hydrangeas, and cosmos bloom in the park year round, especially in the flower garden area, and it’s a great place to enjoy a quick picnic or go bird watching. Some of the park’s many other facilities include a camp ground, hotel, and full ground golf course. In winter, visitors can enjoy festive decorative lighting.

The station also serves as an information base, with tourism concierges providing visitors with useful area info. The station has a full array of facilities, including a rest area, shops, restaurants, the information corner, and more. In addition to light meals such as udon and ramen noodles, the station’s restaurants offer set meals and rice bowls made with oysters as well as local Setouchi Rokkoku pork and Sera beef. The station also has a shop dedicated to local specialty products like Sera Blend Coffee and Sera Wine.

通りがかりにランチとして利用しました。全体的に高めの料金だったので安めのてりマヨ丼を食べました、美味しかったです。クレジットカードなど効いて便利でした。また、地元の野菜やフルーツがたくさん販売されてました。

This roadside station in Kitahiroshima Town Yamagata County, Hiroshima Prefecture is easily recognized by the large taiko drum on the roof. Inside you will find a tourist information center, a local goods store, and a restaurant and take-out corner. The local goods store has a variety of products for sale including locally harvested fresh fruit and vegetables and confections. They also offer a variety of souvenirs. In the restaurant they have a wide assortment of meals using local ingredients and a buffet option.

物産館、農作物直売所、レストランのほか、観光案内所もあります。また、バスターミナルになっているので待合室もあります。店内は天井が高く、広々とした売り場には新鮮野菜や特産品が豊富に並んでいました。トイレも広くて綺麗でした。なお、地域に根付く神楽のシンボルとして、屋根の上に太鼓がのっています。xa0

Ancient documents related to Mouri Motonari, artifacts from Koriyama castle, as well as items dedicated to shrines and temples by Mouri are exhibited. Various exhibitions are held in addition to the permanent exhibition.

吉田郡山城の100名城印と御城印の入手場所がここでした。古代から近代までの安芸高田市の歴史がコンパクトに展示されていました。写真撮影ができない場所が多かったですが、勉強にはなりました。建物は新しいものでした。駐車場は前にあります。城の方の散策には別の駐車場を使うように書かれていました。

This roadside station is in Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Come taste the local flavors of local processed goods and produce sold at the Fureai Ichiba (friendly market) as well as ice cream made from locally produced milk and seasonal fruits and made at the ice cream parlor. The restaurant offers a buffest filled with dishes made from local ingredients as well as a side dish menu with local cuisine that evokes a sense of nostalgia.

午前中には地元の新鮮野菜がどっさり届きます。それを目当てにやってくる人もかなり多いのではないかと思います。夏の盛りですが、旬の梨があったので購入しました。道の駅の設備はとてもよく、駐車場はたいへん広いです。三次市から出雲市や松江市など日本海側に行くのには、高速道路（無料区間）を利用する人が多くなりましたが、この道の駅がある国道はたいへん走りやすく、田園風景や里山の景色はとてもすばらしいです。

Guests can go sledding on the park’s large grassy space or participate in one of the free recreational activities the hotel organizes each day. The park and the hotel are visited by many tourists.

It is located behind the mountain on which Kumano Shrine stands and can be reached by going through the temple grounds and then taking the nature trail that leads up to Mt. Ryozan. The five stages of the falling water resemble the tail of a long-tailed fowl, leading to the waterfall’s name of Chono Falls or “Bird Tail Falls”, in contrast to Shimane’s Torikami Falls or “Rising Bird Falls.”

A gorge 18 kilometers long straddling the towns of Tojo and Jinsekikogen in Shobara City Hiroshima Prefecture. The beautiful gorge follows the flow of the Taishaku River. Some of its many highlights include limestone caves created through erosion, a giant natural stone bridge, and various curiously shaped rocks and boulders. The manmade Lake Shinryu is surrounded by the beauty of fresh verdure in spring and gorgeous fall foliage in autumn, and you can also enjoy the scenery from on the lake via a pleasure cruise.

This location famous for cherry blossoms is in Sera Town, Sera County Hiroshima Prefecture. Every year in April you can see the double cherry blossoms, the Yoshino cherry blossoms, and a row of weeping cherry trees. When the flowers are in full bloom, they are lit up at night, and there are always large crowds of visitors throughout the blooming season. Pets allowed.

しだれ桜で有名な場所です。少し高いところにあるのと桜の種類からか開花時期が遅めで、他が散った後にも楽しめます。道の両側に咲き乱れるしだれ桜は圧巻。公園もあるのでお弁当を食べたり、ちょっとスポーツしたりと遊べる場所です。

This is a great flower-viewing garden for enjoying flora in all four seasons—poppies in spring, lavender in summer, and cosmos in fall. It features a café and herb garden as well, so you can partake of lavender ice cream and fresh herbal tea.

ラベンダーが見納めの時期に行きました。ドライフラワー用に1人100本までラベンダーを持ち帰ることが出来ました。しかし炎天下で、まだ綺麗な状態の花を探す作業は結構大変でした。最盛期に来たいです。

棟続きのどんぐり荘に宿泊し、朝食をいただきました。和食でしたが、おかずもしっかり並べられ、ほっとするとともに暖かくなる感じです。卵料理は、自分で好みに焼けるようになっていました。宿泊施設は、研修等に使われるようで、ホテルのようではありませんが、温泉もあり、リーズナブルです。夫婦ふたりで週末にドライブに行きひと休みしてみたくなりました。お酒をいただくなら、閉店が早いので、ご注意ください。
The Site of Koriyama Castle

This is the largest mountain castle Mouri Motonari built during the Warring States period in the Chugoku region. It is thought that the whole mountain became a part of the castle overlooking the Yoshida Basin in the middle of the 16th century. After the Battle of Sekigahara, as Mouri Motonari was forced to relocate to Bouchou, the castle was abandoned. At the foot of the mountain there is a statue of Mouri Motonari, as well as a stone monument related to the “Three Arrows” and tombs of the Mori family.

There is more than meets the eye awaiting any Hiroshima-bound traveler. Kicking off in Hiroshima city, the Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle, and Shukkeien Garden offer a couple of days of exploring; however, the real beauty lies along the southern coast of the prefecture. There, a series of islands spreads across the Seto Inland Sea: from the mysterious sea-submerged Great Torii Gate at Miyajima Island to the first half of the islands that connect Honshu to Shikoku via six spectacular suspension bridges.
