- A café situated inside an old Japanese-style home in the Naramachi (Town of Nara) area centering on the former grounds of the Gango-ji Temple. The remodeled home still retains its old latticed and frosted glass windows, giving the café an old-fashioned yet somehow familiar atmosphere. The café’s signature menu item is the Kanakana-gohan, which comes with a variety of healthy Japanese side dishes, rice, and miso soup. The café’s full menu also includes cakes, pudding, and carefully selected beverages. Closest station: Kintetsu-Nara Station.

- This is a liquor store located in Kasasagi Town, Nara City. It is a long-established store founded in the beginning of the Meiji period, registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of the country. The sake specialty store offers a wide range of sake from the local sake breweries of Nara prefecture. Visitors can also casually enjoy sake, wine, and beer in the shop cafe.

Great little place across from a small temple. Outdoor seating, large selection, and a great price. Not very many places offer seating outside so this is the place to grab a cold one

ならまちにある素敵なカフェに行ってきました。複合施設の中の一番奥のお店です 森の中を進んでいくような雰囲気です。店内はジャムやお紅茶などの物販コーナーとカフェコーナーがあります。お食事はトーストやサンドイッチなどの軽食メニューのみですが素材を生かした美味しいトースト類です。店の外観に素敵なお花が飾られてきて素敵でした。

Nara Areas
With a reputation almost as stellar as that of Kyoto, Nara is a must-visit for those searching for the remains of "traditional Japan." The largely green Nara city holds the majority of the prefecture’s treasures, such as the iconic Todai-ji Temple, in which a 15-meter tall Great Buddha sits, and Nara Park, where deer flock to befriend passersby. While mountains are by no means hard to come by in this area, for hiking with a reward, head to the Kii Mountains’ Yoshino district in spring, when the hillsides put on an impressive display of white and pink cherry blossoms.
