    Kanagawa Pref. Kamakurashi Shichirigahamahigashi 2-1-12
This is a drive-in-café located on the seaward side of highway 134, in the middle of the Shichirigahama beachfront parking lot. From the terrace seats and inside, one can see Enoshima and Mt. Fuji. Opening at 8am on weekends and holidays, one can enjoy a relaxed breakfast like a true Hawaiian local. The menu features local specialties focused around Hawaiian plate cuisine, such as Kahuku’s famous “garlic shrimp plate,” with takeout also available.

Had an excellent breakfast, amazing views of shonan bay and Mt Fiji, lovely food and good service. Seems to be mostly cool surfer couples.

Renowned for their flavorful, fragrant croissants, Zebra Coffee fresh-bakes them each morning just in time for the café’s opening. The café’s natural Akita sugi Japanese cedar wood interior coupled with its steam engine-like bean roaster and giant espresso machine creates a curious, out-of-the-ordinary atmosphere.

    緊急事態宣言が終わり、何処へ行こうかと考えていました。JBLでも聴いてみようと思いこちらに橋本駅からバスに乗って来ました。宇治抹茶ラテが心を解きほぐしてくれました。来て良かった。

  • Monkey-Magic Teahouse
    Gourmet / Alcohol
Kanagawa Pref. Yokohamashi Naka-ku Yamashitachou 130
Monkey-Magic Teahouse has stocked about 100 varieties of new and seasonal Chinese teas since its opening in 2001, with a shop selling Chinese tea leaves and tea goods on the first floor, and a tearoom on the second floor. The shop itself has an oddly familiar, comfortable “Shanghai Retro” atmosphere that’s a perfect refresher after a long, tiring walk along Chinatown’s streets. It’s located seven minutes’ walk from Minatomirai Line Motomachi-Chukagai Station Exit 2.

    Kanagawa Pref. Ashigarashimogunhakonemachi Hakone 161-1
A commercial facility located close to Hakone Port in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo County, Kanagawa Prefecture distinguished by its tiled roof and Japanese modern-style exterior. On the first floor, famous Odawara shops stand side-by-side like an old post station town, a veritable treasure trove of souvenirs and culinary treats. Suzuhiro Kamaboko’s takoyaki-like kamaboko (fish dumplings) are particularly popular and can be enjoyed in the shop’s eat-in space. A meal, sweet, or lovingly-prepared cup of coffee can be enjoyed while gazing at Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji from the cafes on the second floor.

A 20 minute walk or a 10 minute bus ride from Enoshima Electric Railway Yuigahama Station. A guesthouse operating out of an old Japanese-style home standing quietly in the Zaimokuza neighborhood, an area which once flourished as a port town. This tiny lodging facility has two private rooms and one dormitory-style room. On the weekends, the facility also operates as a café called Café Kamejikan. The café serves home-style dishes made with fresh, locally-grown vegetables. The café is open to non-guests as well and is a popular place for locals to stop by and relax in.

This is a modern-atmosphere café renovated from an old Japanese house, a five-minute walk from Enoden Hase Station. It is often visited by the media as a famous local Kamakura attraction. A popular dish is the French toast, its fluffiness giving it the texture of pudding. During mornings, one can enjoy all-you-can-eat bread that is in high demand by mail order.

The building for this café and store which sells “lifestyle tools” including tableware was remodeled from a warehouse originally selling marine goods located in Hase, Kamakura. The items each have an individual style according to the creator, and all are made with exquisite care.

A café situated inside an old private home located close to Kita-Kamakura Station. Easily identifiable by the somewhat strange stone figures standing in front of the entrance, once past these two sentries visitors are asked to order at the counter and then take a seat to wait for its arrival. The second floor boasts high ceilings which create an open atmosphere. There are also sofas to relax on. The antique furnishings help add to the café’s ambience. The lunch beef stew and fruit-filled popovers are particularly popular.

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
