    This café operates out of a house in Gojo Town, Nara City, giving it an at-home feeling. The shop is decorated with wooden furniture and you can easily let time slip away in the comfortable shop interior. Their Café Gohan (meal) is an everchanging lunch set and a popular choice. It is a delicious, healthy dish made up of a variety of ingredients and local vegetables and includes hand-made side dishes, rice, and miso-soup. The rice flour cakes and Japanese style sweets on the desert menu are also popular.

    The coffee at Bar Cauda is extraordinary, with heart and soul poured into every cup, made with home-roasted coffee beans, picked out according to the SCAJ’s certified coffee meisters’ best points, and its patissier’s sweets are also very well-received. The soothing interior also has terrace seating for customers who would prefer to relax outside. The nearest station is the Kintetsu Nara Line’s Yamato-Saidaiji Station.

    大和西大寺駅から7、8分程だったか、平城宮も見える新興住宅地の一角にありました。お子さん連れもいてコーヒー以外のメニューも豊富。おいしいカプチーノでホッと一息つけました。

    This cafe is located in 2-Chome Tomigaoka, Nara City. Operating out of a late Meiji period Western-style building, the interior is decorated in a relaxing English style, and here you can enjoy coffee, black tea, desserts, and light meals. Customers can enjoy a view of Obuchi Pond, Mt. Ikoma, and the seasonal flowers blooming in the cafe's garden. There's also an adjoining studio which can be used for dance and yoga lessons.

    湖畔にある雰囲気のある喫茶店です。 色々食事も出来ますが、オムライスを頼んだところ、大きなオムライスが出てきて、大食漢の私も苦労して食べました。 味はもちろん美味しかったです。 湖の景色も見る事が出来、落ち着いて食事が出来るお店です。

    店内は広くて明るくて、椅子とテーブルの種類が色々あって、面白く、ゆっくりとくつろげます。ジャンバラヤを注文しました。ちいさなカップに入ったスープが付いてきます。サルサソース別添えされており、自分の好みでソースがつけれて良かったです。とても美味しかったです。

With a reputation almost as stellar as that of Kyoto, Nara is a must-visit for those searching for the remains of "traditional Japan." The largely green Nara city holds the majority of the prefecture’s treasures, such as the iconic Todai-ji Temple, in which a 15-meter tall Great Buddha sits, and Nara Park, where deer flock to befriend passersby. While mountains are by no means hard to come by in this area, for hiking with a reward, head to the Kii Mountains’ Yoshino district in spring, when the hillsides put on an impressive display of white and pink cherry blossoms.
