    "A long-standing Japanese confectionary shop established in 1958 located a five-minute walk from Nijo Station. The shop has been featured on television and in a variety of magazines. Both the shop's yatsuhashi manju cinnamon rice flour confection buns, invented by the original owner; and its ""Kyoka"" buns stuffed with matcha powdered green tea bean jam, created by the second generation owner; have won awards in national confectionary competitions. The restaurant's handmade dorayaki pancake sandwiches are also a staple product; the popular Mont Blanc dorayaki are only available in fall. The shop also offers handmade Kyoto confectionary making classes where you can watch a master and try making your very own confection to bring home. Over 70 thousand people have participated in these popular classes."

    Seien is a traditional style cafe adjacent to and directly owned by Daigokuden Honpo, Rokkaku Branch, a branch of a venerable traditional confectionary. located along Rokkaku-dori Avenue. Its menu changes monthly to allow diners to enjoy the flavors of each season, and one of its most famous dishes is kohaku-nagashi, made of agar topped with syrup.

    夏の風物詩、あゆを購入しました。高島屋で購入しました。京都生まれ京都育ちのおばあちゃんに話しかけられて、京都人はここのあゆを頂くと教えて頂きました。こちらのあゆは皮が分厚めでした。食べ比べてみるとお店によって全然違うため面白い。

    Nijo Waksaya is a traditional cafe in Kyoto's Nakagyo Ward. It boasts a long history as a traditional confectionary, and customers can enjoy treats such as kuzukiri (arrowroot noodles in sweet sauce) or warabi mochi (bracken jelly dusted with soy flour). The first floor is a retail shop that sells raw and cooked confections, and the cafe is on the second floor. It offers unique seasonal syrups and its own tea blends, and its variations on shaved ice, such as Uji kintoki with green tea syrup and sweet beans, are popular.
