- Rokujuppiro Falls is located in the park of the same name in Taki County, Mie Prefecture. This waterfall, which falls into Minogatani Valley along the shore of the lake formed by the Miyakawa Dam, was discovered during the Muromachi Period (1334-1615). When the drop of the falls was measured by dropping a rope in 1541, it was discovered to be 60 hiro (a hiro was a measurement of length equivalent to two outstretched hands), so it was named Rokujuppiro. The natural environment surrounding the falls is beautiful in every season, and scenic trails have been laid out so that visitors can easily walk around in the lovely scenery. On clear days, one can sometimes see rainbows in the falls.

Mie Areas
Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
