This resort features a white sandy beach that stretches out in an arc. It is distinctive for the fine sand that feels smooth underfoot. It was chosen as one of the Japan's 100 Best Beaches and its charm point is the expansive view of Ise Bay that unfolds before you. It was also the first beach in Japan, opened in 1882, to officially allow swimming. It is said that Emperor Taisho practiced swimming here. It is a 15-minutewalk from the JR Futaminoura Station, and is also easily accessible by car, approximately a eight-minute drive from the Ise Futami Toba Line junction via National Route 42. There is a residential area nearby, with the added convenience of being able to easily buy anything you might need.

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
