    This park rich with nature is located in Kaizu City, Gifu Prefecture. There are flower beds to enjoy seasonal flowers from spring to autumn that add color to the grassy plaza. It has a 65-meter tall observation tower and the “Hall of Water and Horticulture” that introduces the climate and history of the area centered on the Kiso Sansen, or three rivers of Kiso (Kiso River, Nagara River and Ibi River) and their basin. In addition, there is an outdoor center complete with audio equipment that is used for various events such as live performances. The wheelchair rentals and many slopes make it accessible to visitors of all kinds. In the winter, the illumination displays light up the entire park with beautiful colors.

    3年振りにGWの初日に訪れました。 チューリップは終わっていましたが、「春の花」が咲き誇る園内で特に可憐に咲いているネモフィラが目を引きました。 広い芝生広場と大型遊具で家族が楽しめる木曽三川公園センターのシンボルである高さ65mの展望タワーは、木曽三川(木曽川、長良川、揖斐川)の雄大な流れが眼下に広がり、360度一望できるのですが、前回はコロナで閉鎖、今回は耐震工事で上がれず残念! またの楽しみ...

    "AnpachiHyakuBaien is a park located about a 15-minute drive from the Gifu-Hashima Interchange on the Meishin Expressway. The 3.9-hectare park contains more than 1200 plum trees of 100 different varieties, the largest number of varieties anywhere in Japan. It is open from late January to late March, so that visitors can see the early blooming winter red plum and the late-blooming Kaiun and Rinshi plums over a long period of time. From mid February to mid March, a sort of ""plum festival"" is held, with food booths featuring udon noodles, rice dumplings in a sweet teriyaki sauce, and bean jam desserts. Visitors can also buy fresh vegetables in Anpachi Town, processed agricultural products, and specialty items and view an exhibition of miniature bonsai plum trees."

    154種1200本以上の梅が楽しめる施設です、2月初めに訪れましたが数本の開花のみでした。それでも数組の来園者がありピーク時は結構な人手になるでしょうね。駐車場は無料ですが台数は多くないようです

    "An 80-minute drive from the Gifu-Hashima Interchange on the Meishin Expressway and a three-minute drive from the Motosu City Office Neo Branch Government Office. This park was built around the Usuzumi Zakura, a famous ancient cherry tree designated a National Natural Monument estimated to be more than 1,500 years old. ""Usuzumi Zakura"" translates to ""pale ink cherry tree,"" a name derived from the fact the tree appears to have been painted in pale black ink when its white blossoms fall. When the tree is in full bloom in early April, the area bustles with large numbers of visitors, and the tree is lit up at night with LED lights which do not hurt it. The tree has also been selected for inclusion in the Japan Top 100 Sakura Viewing Sites list."

    A park filled with lilies flowering amidst sunlight filtering through hinoki cypress trees located 12 minutes away from Tarumi Railway Tanigumi-guchi Station via the Ibigawa Town Community Bus. Some 300 thousand lily plants spanning 50 varieties, including sukashi and oriental lilies, grow on the park’s three hectare grounds. The park is only open during the lily blooming season—early June to early July. During this time, the park holds a Lily Festival, and visitors can enjoy events such as Japanese kayo ballad performances, karaoke, and folk entertainment performances. Visitors can also purchase potted lily varieties here such as huge, white Casa Blanca lilies and bright red Acapulco lilies.

    ひのき木立の中に咲き誇る色鮮やかなゆりの花。 入り口付近は沢山開花していましたが、奥に行くにつれ、蕾が多く満開になれば更に素晴らしい景色でしょう。 見ごたえがある素晴らしい場所でした。 入園料500円。駐車場は広く無料。 トイレも綺麗でした。

    "This park is located in Fujishiro, Ikeda Town, Ibi County. The cherry trees, planted to prevent landslides, are like a deep haze when they bloom, which gives the name ""Kamagatani"" (Misty Valley). Famous for the approximately 1,500 cherry trees of numerous varieties, such as wild and Yoshino, that bloom there in the spring, this spot is also featured as one of the top 33 cherry blossom spots in Mino and Hida."

    "A 60-minute, 35-kilometer drive from the Sekigahara, Ogaki, and Gifu-Hashima Interchanges on the Meishin Expressway. The Tanigumisan Kegonji Temple is a Tendai Buddhist temple affectionately known as ""Tanigumi-san."" The temple's principal object of worship is an 11-headed Kanzeon Bodhisattva statue. The temple is the 33th temple on the Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage and, as befits a temple which represents the end of a journey spent adhering to ascetic principles, there is an underground, pitch black Five Precepts labyrinth walked by feeling one's way in the dark and a pair of bronze carp at the entrance to the main temple building which pilgrims traditionally rub prior to ending their abstention from luxuries like meat, fish, and alcohol. The one kilometer long road leading up the shrine has been planted with alternating cherry and maple trees, and in spring visitors can walk through a veritable tunnel of cherry blossoms. Also a renowned destination for fall foliage viewing, in the autumn a fall colors festival is held here as well."

    "This park located in Tarui Town, Fuwa County is on both sides of the Aikawa River. From late March through about early May, over 300 koinobori (carp streamers) can be seen ""swimming"" in the sky above the river. In addition, about 200 Yoshino cherry trees are in bloom from around late March through early April, so you can enjoy the unique sight of intermingling cherry blossoms and koinobori."

    These cherry trees are along the Nakasu River that runs through the center of Anpachi Town which is in between the Ibi and the Nagara Rivers. A walking path runs through the nearly 1,000 cherry trees spread along both banks. They hold a cherry blossom festival yearly in early April when the trees are in bloom. The reflection of the blossoms at full bloom in the river are a sight to behold. Plum trees are also planted along the promenade. From the end of January, visitors enjoy strolling there while feeling the arrival of spring and taking in the scent of the plum blossoms.

    This row of cherry trees runs along both sides of the Hondo Wajutei polder in the Hondo area in northern Wanouchi Town. At their peak in early April, it forms a-kilometer-long cherry blossom tunnel. Rape blossoms come into bloom beneath the cherry trees at the same time, making a lovely contrast of yellow and pink. There are also about 6,000 hydrangeas of roughly 20 varieties that come into bloom in June, giving it the name Hydrangea Road. Locals love walking this path throughout the year. It's about a 20-minute drive from the Gifu Hashima Interchange.

    A popular cherry blossom viewing spot located about seven-minute drive from Yoro Railway's Ishizu Station on the Yoro Line. There are 1,000 mountain cherry trees along with other varieties that typically are in full bloom from late March to early April. The trees were transplanted from the nearby mountains to commemorate the creation of a cenotaph for Russo-Japanese War victims. With a profusion of blossoms as the trees have grown larger in recent years, it has become one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in the prefecture. The great variety of blossoms attracts a lot of visitors.

    The cherry trees along the Saigawa River that flows around Sumimata Ichiyo Castle are more than 50 years old and stretch for about 2 km. Since 2006, hydrangeas have been planted along the road, and it is also known as "Cherry Blossom Embankment" or "Hydrangea Road.

    "These cherry trees are located in the Minamigata area of Ono Town, Ibi County. Inside of a bloom, a second bud can be seen, and when the first flower fades the second bud comes into bloom. The probability of these rare ""twice-blooming"" cherry blossoms depends on the year, and they are a recognized national treasure. In addition to the twice-blooming flowers, there are also early-blooming single- and double-flowered blossoms, and late-blooming double-flowered blossoms, for a total of four types that can be seen. The color variation of the blossoms is also rich."

Cherry trees are planted along the mountain's slope, allowing visitors to enjoy beautiful scenes during foliage season and when the trees are in bloom.

    A Shinto shrine located in a shopping arcade area not far from the JR Ogaki Station’s south entrance rotary. A well is located at the shrine which was built to replace a turtle pond which once stood in front of Ogaki Station. Ogaki City is well-known for the abundance of clean water which wells up from under the ground in the area. As one would expect, the waters of the well here are also extremely clear and clean, and the well has even been selected as one of Ogaki’s 20 best water-related sites by the city. In part because the well was built through donations by local residents, the well is extremely well-maintained. There are also many trees and green plants growing around the well, making it a great place to stop, take a break, and cool off in the middle of a hot summer day.

    Take the Meihan Kintetsu Bus Hashima Line from Ogaki Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line, get off at the Sugue bus stop, and walk eight minutes. A 2.7 hectare, formerly fallow field planted with some 120 thousand sunflowers. The best time to view the flowers is from mid-August to early September. Sunflowers are planted here at two different times each year, ensuring visitors can enjoy viewing the flowers for an extended period of time. During the Sunflower Festival, the flowers are also lit up at night. An elevated rail line used by the Tokaido Shinkansen is located nearby, and if you are very lucky, you just might get to see a rare “Doctor Yellow” Shinkansen train jetting by decked out in a yellow livery similar to the sunflowers.
  • Kagano Hachiman-jinja Shrine Well

    A scenic well located a five minute walk from the Kaganoguchi bus stop on the Kintetsu Bus from JR Ogaki Station. One of the most celebrated natural spring wells of the many found in Ogaki, a place which has been known for its abundance of water since ancient times, this popular well was also selected as one of the 100 most beautiful springs in the Heisei period. The current well was dug in 1988. On weekends, the area bustles with people come to enjoy the burbling well’s beauty and partake in some its delicious waters. In 1991, a garden pond fed by the well and a children’s park were erected around the well; sticklebacks (Hariyo), a rare variety of fish which can only live in pure waters, swim in the pond.
