Hondo Wajutei

Place famous for cherry blossoms
This row of cherry trees runs along both sides of the Hondo Wajutei polder in the Hondo area in northern Wanouchi Town. At their peak in early April, it forms a-kilometer-long cherry blossom tunnel. Rape blossoms come into bloom beneath the cherry trees at the same time, making a lovely contrast of yellow and pink. There are also about 6,000 hydrangeas of roughly 20 varieties that come into bloom in June, giving it the name Hydrangea Road. Locals love walking this path throughout the year. It's about a 20-minute drive from the Gifu Hashima Interchange.
