    “Caraway” is a well-known European curry house in the first alleyway off of Komachi-dori Street, around a six-minute walk from Kamakura Station. An old shop operating since 1978, there tends to be a queue of Kamakura local fans on weekends who come for the voluminous portions and reasonable prices. A treat is the slow-cooked curry which contains over 30 types of spice and comes with an extra-large helping of rice.

    If you are a curry fan, please visit and try the cheese curry version. For kids, they have a non spicy version which I believe they will enjoy. Small shop with quick service. Great choice of...

    This is a general goods, curry and sweet shop along Kamakura’s Komachi-dori Street. They offer a set menu of four curry varieties including chicken as well as the curry of the day, and one can enjoy a combination of seasonal foodstuffs and spices. There are plenty of sweet options, including cheesecake and lemon cake, and it is a popular spot for desserts.

    This European curry specialty store along Yuigahama-odori Street, is a five-minute walk from Enoden’s Hase Station. It has a great reputation for carefully cooked authentic European curries, where one can feel the sweetness of vegetables and fruits. The chicken curry comes recommended, as the large piece of intact chicken is very juicy and can be gently broken up with a spoon. The rich special curry (1,250 yen) option where guests can choose their preferred curry to be topped with vegetables and a boiled egg is also popular.

    The Special Beef Curry was delicious. And so was the green salad. Also lived the pickled onions and ginger. Excellent service too. Highly recommended.

    初めて伺いました。評判が良かったので期待が大きかったのもありますが味はそれほどでもなかったです。カフェ風のインテリアで落ち着いた感じで素敵でした。

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
