    A well-known Japanese confectioner famous for their Kenjo Meika Toki no Kane Monaka wafer cake. Their monaka fillings including adzuki red bean paste, a white kinton bean paste, and a citrus yuzu bean paste all of which are made with carefully selected domestically grown beans. In 1993 their Kenjo Meika Toki no Kane Monaka was presented to the Emperor and Empress of Japan and is marked by its gently sweet soft and elegant flavor.

You can take a tour of the doll workshops, try a doll making class, and also purchase popular Japanese-style accessories.

    A long-standing doll studio with a history and tradition of more than 80 years, founded in 1934 by modern master craftsman Ryuzo Suzuki (Akitaka the first). The shop was built around the concept of a communication space where people could come into direct contact with the culture and various styles of dolls and they strive to show off traditional Japanese beauty through their dolls. You can also tour the workshop by appointment.

    This bell tower was ordered to be constructed by Sakai Tadakatsu, then Lord of the Kawagoe Domain, sometime between 1627 and 1634 at its current location in what was then Taga Town (now Saiwai Town). It is said to have been the first bell tower. The current bell tower was reconstructed the year after the Great Fire of Kawagoe in 1893 and has a three-story structure standing nearly 16 meters tall. It has been designated as a Cultural Property of Kawagoe City and chosen as one of 100 Soundscapes of Japan: Preserving Our Heritage.

    The only wild primrose habitat in Japan that's been designated as a National Special Natural Memorial. In 1920 it was designated as Japan's first Natural Memorial and then in 1952 as one of the most important Natural Memorials it was chosen as a Special Natural Memorial. The designated area covers nearly 4.1ha and includes wild primroses as well as rare plants including Euphorbia adenochlora and Amsonia elliptica. The best time to see the wild primroses is from late March/early April to mid-April.

    A long-standing eel shop that first opened in 1886. The exterior of the shop has a graceful appearance with a small bridge and garden with trees and shrubs. On the inside you'll find the restaurant on the first floor, private rooms on the second floor, and a large banquet hall on the third floor allowing them to accommodate a variety of requests. The private rooms and banquet hall require advance reservations. Along with the traditional eel dishes their menu has a wide variety including authentic Japanese cuisine such as Shokado premium split bento meals, daily specials, and reception feasts.

    A lock-style canal that first opened in 1731, more than 180 years earlier than the Panama Canal. The canal's lock system allows boats to pass by adjusting the water level difference between the river and the canal. The opening of these locks heralded a thriving industrial exchange with the city of Edo (now Tokyo). An example demonstration of the opening and closing of the locks is held annually in late August.
