The Akagi-jinja Shrine is located at the top of Mt. Akagi. It has been known as a mountain where gods have resided since ancient times. Mt. Akagi is the main enshrined deity and Akagi Daimyojin is worshiped as the god of the lake. On the first Saturday of August, the Soke, or Grand Master, in charge of Ogasawara style Japanese horseback archery etiquette and his disciples hold a Japanese archery dedicatory match. At night, paper lanterns are set adrift in a ceremony called Toronagashi accompanied by a firework display and every year many tourists visit the festival. The Autumn Festival held on the national Sports day in October is also very popular.

"This shrine is located in Shimooyamachi, Maebashi City. The main enshrined deity is Konohana Sakuyahime no Mikoto, who worshippers come to pray to from both inside and outside the prefecture for safe delivery and child rearing. There are three places in the grounds for people to pray for safe deliveries. These prayers are accepted on any day, not just the ""Day of the Dog"". There is a prayer for easy delivery that is likened to a ladle for drinking water that has no bottom, so the child will simply slip out. Currently, the two rocks pregnant women can walk between for safe deliveries are off-limits, and worshippers can only visit the shrine."

This Hachimangu Shinto shrine is thought to safeguard the area of Maebashi. Its history is said to date back to 859 when Nagano Narimasa, a descendant of Ariwara-no-Narihara, introduced the deity from Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Kyoto. The shrine honors Emperor Ojin, Hime Okami, and Empress Jingu. As Empress Jingu is considered a mother god, the faithful come to pray for blessings involving marriage, conception, safe delivery, and child rearing. An enormous sacred ginkgo tree on the grounds is officially protected by Maebashi City.

This Old Bell Clock Tower in the Isezaki Domain lord’s residence is the oldest reinforced concrete structure in Gunma. Completed in 1916 during the Taisho period thanks to the donation of Keisuke Kobayashi who runs a chemist in Yokohama. It told the time to the town until 1937 when the metal in the clock and bell was used for the war efforts. The clock was restored after the war to its Taisho period state for the municipal government’s 50th anniversary. You can get a great feeling for the romanticism of the Taisho period with the red brick walls, renaissance windows and domed roof.
