This roadside station faces Ota City’s Jobu Road on National Route 17, approximately 25 minutes from the Kita Kanto Expressway Isesaki Interchange. The station features a Catering Car Village, which sells dishes such as yakisoba, udon and curry, as well as sweets and authentic Brazilian cuisine out of catering cars. There is also a 24-hour multipurpose rest area where visitors can eat take-out meals. There are places where fresh, local vegetables and animal products are sold, as well as various crafts made with local materials and techniques.

The famous Houtokuji Temple—great for autumn leaves and peony trees in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. It was founded by manor lord, Kiryu-Sano Masatsuna, as a Zen temple during the Muromachi period, set for defending the back of Kiryu Castle. In recent years, it has become popular for its “artistic temple seals” and their cute illustrations. The grounds have a karesansui (“rock garden”) set against the mountain, making a beautiful scene in all seasons. The “Botan Festival” is held from late April to May, and the “Momiji Festival” is held in November.

This is the only research and exhibition facility in Japan which specializes in snakes. It is located approximately 10 minutes' walk from the Tobu Kiryu Line's Yabuzuka Station. Its main purpose is the research and uses of venomous snakes, and in the Venomous Snake Terrarium, visitors can see King Cobras, Rattlesnakes and other snakes from around the world. In the Orochi Terrarium, large snakes such as the yellow anaconda and alligator snapping turtles are on display. Viper venom extraction demonstrations are held on weekends and national holidays in the Antivenom Room.

This Shinto shrine deifies Sugawara no Michizane. It's one of the five great Tenjin shrines of the Kanto area. People worshiped there for its protective powers around 1187 when Kiryu clan controlled the surrounding area, but it became Kiryu Tenmangu Shrine around 1350 when the god from Kyoto's Kitano Tenmangu Shrine was merged with it. Sugawara no Michizane is a god of scholarship, and as there are many schools in the area, the grounds fill with students who come to pray. It is also known as god of traffic safety and secure travel. The shrine is designated as a Gunma Prefecture Important Cultural Property.

This Soto sect temple, known as “Sazae Hall”, is located approximately five minutes from Otakiryu Interchange on the Kita-Kanto Expressway. The temple is said to have originated with the Rokkaku-do, built in 1187. The main hall has been destroyed twice due to fires so currently, the “Sazae Hall”, built as a Buddhist temple, is used as the main hall. The Sazae Hall is an unusual building with a cloister and was certified as an Important Cultural Property of the prefecture in 1977. There are many hydrangeas planted in the precinct and the temple is called “Gunma Prefecture’s hydrangea Temple”. The best time to see the hydrangeas is from the beginning to the middle of June.

There are also plazas which can be adapted for different purposes and this well-recommended park can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. The park’s combination playground equipment and fluffy bouncing dome are very popular with children. In the water park, there are splashing pools, volcanic fountains and cool waterfalls, as well as murmuring streams that are relaxing to the listener. Also, on the south side of the outdoor stage, there is a barbeque area where visitors can enjoy day camping.

I run almost daily in the park, all year long. It’s beautiful and has easy access. Kids, dogs, runners, walkers.. we all love the park.

This shrine is located in Itakura Town. The three Gods worshipped here offer protection from calamity, directional misfortune and lightning. They are Honoikazuchi no Okami, Oikazuchi no Okami and Wakeikazuchi no Okami. It is the head Raiden shrine of the Kanto area. It is said that Prince Shotoku establishing a shrine in the small island of Inara Swamp, in the time of Empress Suiko, was how this Raiden Shrine came to be. The main shrine has a single pillar standing in the very center with doors that open either side. This mysterious construction can only be seen in seven places in the whole of Japan, so the main shrine was designated as an Important Cultural Property by the prefecture. The highlight of the shrine is the carving made by Tsunehachi Ishihara, the 10th generation maser of Jingoro Hidari. It is said to be the best architectural sculpture masterpiece of the Edo Period.

The park recreates the lead character, Jiro’s hometown of Mikazukimura, Nitta County, Joshu, and the scenery with its fire lookout towers and water mills is just as it would have been in the Edo Period.
