Akuzawa's Former House

A historic building in Kashiwagura Town, Maebashi City. The single-story house was built around the end of 17th century and features a classic Japanese design with a thatched roof. It preserves an architectural style one generation older than the classic Akagi-style Residence with a loft area for silkworm faming. The house has been designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

三夜沢赤城神社から車で数分のところにあります。土間と座敷部分が半分ずつで、座敷部分は、板敷と座敷と納戸に分かれているとのこと。外観も見事です。
地域の文化を知ることが出来ます。

北関東地域の平地の中規模農家の典型的な古民家のようです。茅葺寄棟造りの桁行八間（15.3ｍ）、梁間四間半（8.2ｍ）の建物で、建造年代は、17世紀と推定され県内でも古い民家の一つだそうです。大胡駅からは離れているので車が便利です。私は駅から歩きましたが、40-1時間程度だと思います。もしかすると、市内を走るデマンドバスが使えるかも知れません。
