- Travel / Tourism
- Fukushima Pref. Fukushimashi Tsuchiyuonsenmachi Washokurayama Pure Land Inland
- The 1,707 meter tall Mt. Azuma-kofuji is part of the Azuma Mountain Range. When you look west from the Fukushima city area, it looks like nothing so much as a small version of Mt. Fuji, thus the name of Kofuji. You can take the Bandai Azuma Skyline Drive to the Jododaira parking area, and from there climb the stairs for a clear view of the mortar-shaped crater. If the weather is right, you can see all the way to the Fukushima Basin, and the ease of climb makes it a draw for those wanting an easy hike.
