Fukushima Kitakata-shi Atsushiokanomachi Atsushio Maeda Tei 602-2
This museum is dedicated to the old National Railway Nicchu Line, which ran between the Kitakata Station in old Kitakata Town, Yama County and Atsushio Station in the old Atsushio Village. The museum displays materials related to the 11 kilometers of line and five stations that it served for almost 50 years from its opening in 1938 to its closing in 1984. The museum is now housed in the old final station building, Atsushio Station, and you can see the old waiting room benches, ticket boxes, and pictures of the trains while they were running. The grounds still hold old railroad crossings and turntable.
