A crafts shop carrying select handmade goods from across Japan and around the world located at the intersection of Itsutsubashi-dori Avenue and Kokubun-cho-dori Avenue. The original owner, a former classmate of renowned poet Kenji Miyazawa, chose the shop's name based a colophon at the end of Miyazawa's A Well-Ordered Restaurant. The shop's wide-ranging selection of standards includes pottery, lacquerware, and folk toys. Particularly recommended are the Muni Carpets, which are warm in winter and cool in summer and can be used year round; and the shop's signature coffee bean holders made with the secondary bark of Japanese bird cherries. Many of the shop's products are meant for long years of use and will only grow more attractive with age. The shop also holds special product exhibitions several times a year.

around-area-map

Lying along the northeastern coast of Japan, Miyagi prefecture is home to lashings of natural parks, oysters, and hot springs. While the bustling city of Sendai offers some simple city entertainment, it’s the Matsushima islands that deserve the most attention, having boosted the prefecture’s reputation as one of Japan’s most scenic views.
