Sunset Beach is a famous beach next to the American Village where beautiful sunsets can be seen. As it starts to get crowded around sunset, getting here a little earlier is recommended.
  • Urasoe Park

    Okinawa Pref. Urasoeshi Iso 115-1
This comprehensive park uses a hill where a natural forest largely remains. A large park that stretches through the Nakama, Iso and Toyama areas of Urasoe City, it is divided into three zones. The A zone has the Urasoe Castle ruins and Urasoe Yodore that is a prefecturally-designated cultural property, and is the zone with high historical and cultural value. The B and C zones can be enjoyed in various ways such as a space to relax, play with playground equipment, or go on picnics.

I was sold to the healthy salt and I bought $100 worth of the products. Just a 5 minute walk, you can have a nice view of the sea. I was glad that we made a detour to visit the salt factory.

Okinawa Areas

around-area-map

Let go of your image of a busy, ordered Japan and replace it with crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches, and relaxing folk music: You’ve arrived in Okinawa. A world away from the high intensity of Tokyo, Okinawans appear to live a laid-back beach life on this paradisiacal tropical island that lies in the middle of the East China Sea almost 1,000 kilometers south of mainland Japan’s most southern tip. Home to a spattering of islands, prepare yourself to discover underwater caves, star-shaped sand, and an island culture sometimes unrecognizable from mainland Japan.
