    An aquarium located in Kashimaecho. Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture which focuses on presenting exhibits which recreate the diverse marine ecosystem of the Kujuku Islands. The Kujukushima Bay Grand Aquarium exhibit, home to some 13,000 individual marine creatures spread across 120 species illuminated by glittering sunlight, is the facility’s crown jewel. Some of the aquarium’s highlights include the soothing Jellyfish Symphony Dome in which jellyfish slowly float amidst phantasmal lights, and shows which show the fantastical abilities of the park’s dolphins. Note: Due to construction lasting from May 10 to July 5, 2017, dolphin shows will not be held until July 14, 2017.

The structure, built with special permission from the royal family of the Netherlands, is a faithful recreation of the palace where Queen Beatrix lives. The Baroque style garden which extends behind the palace is a recreation of the Great Garden which was designed for the Dutch royal family. Inside the palace, visitors will find the Huis Ten Bosch Art Museum, whose collection includes etchings by Rembrandt.

Visitors can get a sweeping view of the natural beauty of the Kujuku Islands and the Goto Sea, as well as Sasebo City to the east and Sasebo Port to the south. In the evening, visitors can take in the glittering cityscape and isaribi firelight lure fishing; in spring, cherry blossoms blooming in profusion in the area.

    Walked to the top from the Navy base on a rainy day, I wasnt blessed with the view looking down but I still loved the location.

    This zoo and botanical garden, situated on a rise commanding a view of Saikai National Park Kujukushima below, focuses on relaxation and the nature of the Kujuku Islands. The zoo presents around 60 species of animals such as lions and Amur leopard cats; there's also a penguin exhibit which boasts one of the largest overhead aquariums in Japan. The zoo also offers a full array of programs, including guided tours and animal feeding sessions, as well as rides on Taishu horses, a rare breed of horse of which only around 50 live in all of Japan. The zoo's greenhouse garden and grounds have been planted with some 1,200 species of plants; the 3,000-square-meter rose garden, in particular, is a must see in the spring and fall when its beautiful roses bloom in profusion.

Maintained at the foots of the Saikai Bridge and Shinsaikai Bridge which span these two cities, facilities include observatories with sweeping views of the whirling tides of the Hario Strait, a fun obstacle course, artificial turf sledding hill, and a walking path around the Shinsaikai Bridge. The museum is also adjacent to the Sasebo City Utsuwa Historical Museum, where visitors can learn about the history of Sasebo pottery, including Mikawachi ware.

    佐世保線三河内駅近くにあります。車利用で佐世保に行ったので立ち寄りました。江戸-明治時代の白磁の作品や現代作家の作品が展示されています。三川内焼の名作を多く拝見させていただきました。しかも入館無料でした。絵付け・透かし彫り体験などもできますが、10名以上での申し込みとなっていたので断念しました。素朴な感じの焼き物に魅力を感じました。

The station's restaurant serves fresh sashimi and Japanese pufferfish set meals, Takashima chanpon noodle, and the ""Otokomeshi"" rice bowl topped with local seafood."
