    Kagawa Pref. Sakaideshi Yoshimachou
Yoshima Island is one of the Shiwaku Islands and was formerly a marine transport hub. As with the surrounding islands, quarrying of high-quality granite once flourished there, and as many as 30 companies operated on Yoshima at the height of its prosperity in the Showa period. Today it has the only parking area on the Seto Ohashi Bridge. It has a great 360-degree view, and its shop sells Setouchi souvenirs.
  • Honjima Island

    Kagawa Pref. Marugameshi Honjimachou
"This island is approximately a 35 minute ferry ride from Marugame Port. The island with Kasashima, the prosperous headquarters of the Shiwaku Navy during the Edo period (1603-1868), many precious cultural heritages remain to this day. Currently there are many guided tours as a tourist attraction, and you can enjoy famous spots including the locations of scenes from the movie ""Kikansha Sensei"" and the Shiwaku Navy course going around places related to the navy, as well as the Honjima Island Building course to see different structures. In addition, it is appealing because you can see the beautiful landscape unique to the islands, and the area was chosen as one of Japan's top 100 promenades."

Kagawa Areas

around-area-map

Japan’s smallest prefecture, Kagawa, may take up just a small corner of Shikoku, but it has grown increasingly popular with the recognition of Naoshima, its "art island" in the Seto Inland Sea between Shikoku and Honshu. Just a stone’s throw from the islands, mainland Kagawa’s prefectural capital, Takamatsu, holds history in its castle ruins and its pride and joy, Ritsurin Garden, is known as one of the country’s best gardens.
