A restaurant within the long established ryokan, Kinsuikan, in Miyajima Town, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, with its large landmark sign of a racoon dog. Guests at this popular restaurant can have dishes made with the local specialty eel and oysters. Their signature dish is the steamed conger eel on rice, a dish of boiled eel on a bed of rice neatly arranged in a porcelain box and steamed. The restaurant’s fried oysters meal and oyster curry are also popular choices and go together perfectly with one of their many local sakes.

We chose this restaurant as it was deemed to be vegetarian friendly. The only vegetarian items were a raw vegetable salad which I would call a plate of raw vegetables and a plate of chips. There...

Kakizaemon is a restaurant run by one of Japan’s finest oyster producers. It is located in Tsuchido, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The restaurant boasts a range of dishes using the freshest seafood caught in the Seto Inland Sea, such as large, flavorsome Hiroshima oysters, sea bream, octopus, conger eel, rockfish and stonefish. Popular dishes include their hearty servings of deep-fried oysters and oven-baked oysters, as well as their seafood rice bowl lavishly topped with the finest white fish. Guests can enjoy a relaxing meal while listening to some jazz in this modern Japanese restaurant refurbished out of an old historical building.

Walked along the waters to find this place just for its oysters - they have their own farm and factory so the oysters are guaranteed fresh and good! Didn’t disappoint at all. Strongly recommend going...
