    A winery which first became operation in 1986 in Taisha, a town famed for its production of greenhouse grapes. At this popular tourism destination, visitors can enjoy Shimane Wine and other local wine brands. The winery offers a free tour course conducted in its wine fermentation hall where visitors can view the winery’s wine fermentation tanks and production process. The wine’s sampling and shop hall sells wine, sweets, and other souvenirs, and there’s also a sampling corner where you can try around 10 varieties of wines and juices. The winery’s barbecue house, where you can enjoy Shimane wagyu beef together with wine, is also popular. The nearest station is Hamayamakoen-Kitaguchi Station.

    This long established Japanese confectionery store was founded in 1809 in the time of the Imperial Court of the seventh lord of the Matsue Domain, Matsudaira Fumai. Passed down from father to only one son, the store continues to uphold the traditions of Japanese sweets brought about through Matsue’s tea ceremony culture. The shop is famous for its usuogura sweet, diligently made over time by baking large grained adzuki beans in a secret honey. Keigetsudo also sells lots of other kinds of sweets such as their izumo-zanmai made with layers of hard candy, yokan with beans inside, and Turkish delight, as well as monaka (a wafer cake filled with bean jam) and sweets made with ume, or Japanese apricots. The nearest station is Matsue Station.

    This is a specialty seafood shop of fugu (blowfish) which is said to be an auspicious fish that brings luck, located on Shinmon-dori Street in front of the main gate of Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine. Its main product is uzuni which is a pre-packed meal of a special dish handed down from the Izumonokuninomiyatsukoke officials of Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine. It is a traditional dish of fugu fish meat cooked in a delicious fugu fish broth with shiitake mushrooms, and added kanpyo (strips of dried gourd), and it is especially delicious poured over hot cooked rice and eaten in Ochazuke (tea-on-rice) style. Dried wet rice wine flavored fugu and ofukuyaki, a confectionery baked in the shape of fugu are also popular. An eat-in space is also provided. The nearest station is Izumotaisha-mae Station.

    参拝後の楽しみの一つは門前街でのグルメとお買い物。 ぜんざいを食べたかったのですが、目的の店が改装中で店がなく、ありつけられなかったので、急遽この店に。 食べてみれば普通の鯛焼き、回転焼きみたいなもの。至って普通。 Instagram映えする商品。 フグの海産物がお店の本業なのですね。

    Kanko Center Izumo is a tourist shopping center located in Kizuki-higashi, Taisha Town, Izumo City. Besides stores selling local Izumo specialty products, famous traditional confectioneries and local sakes, etc., there is also a mini convenience store; the second and third floors have areas that can be booked for group events, and a banquet hall. There are also restaurants serving Izumo Soba noodles, etc. Kanko Center Izumo is located adjacent to the bus terminal, and bicycle rental is available, making it a convenient place to stop when visiting the area.

    団体ツアー向け中心なのかな？大きな建物の「観光センター いずも」です。 １Fはお土産物屋ですね。２，３Fは団体用のお食事処らしいです。建物が大きいので結構目立ってました。

    Nishiwaki is a fishmonger’s shop (fresh fish shop) located in Urago, Nishinoshima Town, Oki County. It sells fresh fish, specializing in local fish species, as well as home-made sun-dried fish products. Nishiwaki also serves sashimi set meals and fresh fish set meals; visitors can also have fish that they have purchased in the store barbecued (this service is available even for solo visitors).

    摩天涯から通天橋までウオーキングコースを歩いた後、バスの時間が合わず浦郷まで歩いて昼食を食べるところを探していたら、この店を見つける。岩ガキが1個、400円だったので2個頼みビールを飲んだが、岩ガキは海の味がして最高に旨かった。（他の店では1個750円だった）その後食べたアワビの炊き込みご飯のご縁定食もうまかった。入口は海産物のお店なので、一見食堂には見えないがお勧めです。

They offer local specialties, candy, and Kaiso Shochu Isokko—a popular local sake. For a fee, you can try out various sakes in the taste-test corner, allowing you to find the sake that suits you best. Approximately two minutes on foot from Beppu Port Ferry Terminal.

    Nakada Shoten is a fish merchant. Its delicious sesame tofu known as gomadofu is made with only white sesame, arrowroot, and sake. They recommend using wasabi soy sauce with their gomadofu, which is made fresh by hand every morning. Their homemade salted squid with shiso and plum is also made in the morning, so it’s a good idea to come early. It is approximately 13 minutes by car from JR Nima Station.
