- "A farmers market located a five-minute walk from Kintetsu Railway Takeda Station. The market carries an abundance fresh ""jinen"" (""natural"") Kyoto fruits and vegetables grown by local farmers which customers can pick up with their own hands and choose which ones to buy. The vegetables and other goods sold in the market are also used to make the dishes served in the adjoining Jinen & Shokudo restaurant. Previously featured in the media, the market also carries farmer-made miso, Japanese pickles, Japanese confections, jams, and side dishes made with Kyoto vegetables."

Kyoto Areas
Its wooden tea houses, shuffling geisha, and spiritual sights have seen Kyoto hailed as the heart of traditional Japan, a world apart from ultramodern Tokyo. Despite being the Japanese capital for over a century, Kyoto escaped destruction during World War II, leaving behind a fascinating history which can be felt at every turn, from the fully gold-plated Kinkakuji Temple down to traditional customs such as geisha performances and tea ceremonies, which are still practiced to this day.
