Aichi Pref. Nagoyashi Naka-ku Osu 2-21-47

Located in the Osu district of Nagoya City’s Naka Ward, this temple belonging to the Shingon Chisan sect is said to be one of Japan’s three hallowed grounds of Kannon, the deity of mercy. It is also well-known under the name Osu-Kannon. The temple was constructed as Shinpuku-ji in 1333 in what is now Gifu Prefecture’s Hashima City, and was moved to its present site in 1612. The vermillion hondo (main temple) is a symbol of Osu and is known as the “Osu Bunko” (library) for its collection of some 15,000 old books including Japan’s oldest manuscript of the “Kojiki” (Records of Ancient Matters), a National Treasure, and the “Shomonki” (The Chronicle of Masakado), which is an Important Cultural Property.

Located at osukannon station & just right beside osu shopping street! Glad & surprise to see cherry blossom still in bloom in the temple as cherry blossom started earlier this year. Good to drop by...

以前、ランの館があった場所にあり入場無料です。広い庭園があり、ベンチや休憩スペースがあり緑がいっぱいでとても癒されました。大きな池があり、蓮の花が咲いていて綺麗でした。レストランとガーデンショップもあり、ゆっくり過ごす事ができました。

An entertainment hall located in Osu, Naka Ward, Nagoya City. Opened in 1965 and closed in 2014, the theater was reopened after extensive remodeling. Rakugo comedic storytelling performances are conducted here every month from the 1st to the 10th. The hall is also used for other performances such as taishu popular dramatic theater, koten classical theater, music performances, and plays. The theater can also be rented out for holding performances.

2018年11月、芸協落語名古屋寄席の観賞の為、大学生の娘と訪れました。チケットは前売りで2,700円。番組は瀧川鯉斗、三遊亭遊雀、ぴろき、昔昔亭桃太郎、三遊亭とん馬、鏡味正二郎、そして三遊亭小遊三です。14時開場のところ13時頃に到着、そしたらぴろきさんが演芸場の前にフラフラ(失礼)しているではありませんか。早速、快くサインして頂きました。演芸に娘は大笑い。私も楽しみました。

A long standing restaurant dedicated to miso katsu cutlets, a Nagoya specialty. Since Yabaton was founded in 1947, it has continued to use only select ingredients and the same favorite recipes. Yabaton uses high quality pork with a focus on pork from southern Kyushu. The restaurant’s secret miso sauce is carefully prepared with soybean miso naturally fermented for a year and a half. Yabaton also takes care to keep the frying oil from getting too heavy and causing upset stomachs. In addition to eating in, the restaurant also sells popular take-home bento box lunches and tenderloin cutlet sandwiches. Yabaton also sells merchandise featuring the restaurant’s mascot, Bu-chan.

This Taiwanese restaurant in the Osu district of Naka Ward in Aichi Prefecture's Nagoya City has its honten or main branch in Imaike. The restaurant is the originator of Nagoya's famous Taiwan ramen, a tori-gara (chicken bone) soup base topped full of stir-fried ground meat, garlic chives and chili pepper, and is bustling with tourists as well as regular customers who like spicy food. A Buddhist temple located in Osu, Naka Ward, Nagoya City. Oda Nobuhide, father of the mighty Oda Nobunaga, established this temple as the Oda family temple in 1540. The temple was notably rebuilt in the 1990s and the main temple is a reinforced concrete structure with one floor below ground and five above, while the temple's crypt incorporated cutting edge technologies. On the 28th of every month, the temple hands out mochi rice cakes in connection with a historical event in which Nobunaga's life was saved when the arrow of an enemy aimed at his chest hit a hard, dried rice cake he was carrying instead.
