This confectionery is located about 100 meters from the Toson Memorial Museum. It is a specialty store that serves the local Kiso dish Goheimochi, which is made by crushing rice, wrapping it around a skewer, applying sauce to it, and cooking it. Goeheimochi comes in all kinds of shapes depending on the region and its culture. For example, there are waraji, dango, rice balls, and kiritanpo shaped Goheimochi, but at this store only waraji and dango shaped Goheimochi is offered. The sauce is made with ingredients such as sesame, walnut, or peanuts, which makes the Goheimochi irresistible when served fresh. In addition, it has many different souvenirs including jizake manju, karasumi (salted and dried mullet roe) and yokan.

    五平餅の専門店である「かなめ屋」へ訪問しました。 五平餅は、小判型で、甘辛だれがぬられ、香ばしく焼かれています。

This cafe is located on the corner of the lower entrance to Magome-juku. Right around the corner of a cobblestone street is the Magomekan Annex where Japanese snacks and sweets can be enjoyed. Known for being the best place to see the sunset in Magomejuku, many tourists stop by from noon to evening after taking a walk. It sells curry with finely chopped vegetables, beef bowls, coffee with walnuts and amazake, making it ideal for a break. You can comfortably relax while looking at the seasonal scenery of the Central Japanese garden.

Love the hot snacks of transparent jelly like noodles and red beans with chestnut soft cream. Café have a viewing area with large windows. Recommend you have coffee/tea and some snacks at the end...

This Japanese confectionery shop is known for its famous Gifu chestnut sweets. Besides offering merchandise, the store also has a dine-in cafe space. You can taste cafe menu items using their prided chestnuts while enjoying the greenery and colorful leaves of the changing seasons. One of their specialties is a chestnut parfait that is ice cream and jelly arranged with glazed chestnuts. In addition, the set that has their specialty kuri-kinton (candied chestnuts with mashed sweet chestnuts) and matcha green tea is also popular. There are also famous sightseeing spots in the vicinity such as Ena Gorge and the ruins of Naegi castle, well known as the “castle in the sky,” making it an easy place to rest at during a drive.
