Dynaland was the first ski slope in western Japan to light up its slopes and also hold firework festivals. There are a total of 20 slopes for beginners intermediate and advanced skiers. The ski resort has a neon park for nighttime skiing and ‘chibikko plaza’ where young children can enjoy playing in the snow. The ski school also offers skiing and snowboarding lessons for children. On a fine day from the top of the slope you can see views of the Northern Alps (Hida Mountains) from Mt. Ontake to Mt. Yari. Everyone including beginners can ski on the 5000 meter trail from the summit. Pro snowboarder Ryuji Takai created the Chikei Park. Skiers and snowboarders can also enjoy the DC Park created in collaboration with DC. Not only adults can have fun on these slopes but children also can play safely in the kid’s park the largest in western Japan. On site you’ll also find a Murasaki Sports shop and gift shops selling Okumino and Meiho souvenirs as well as a foot bath.

This museum presents an overview of the town of Gujo-Hachiman. Built in 1920, the former tax office has been renovated and now has a Western-style retro atmosphere. Visitors learn about Gujo-Hachiman in sections with water, history, work, and dance themes. The “Dance Corner has a stage where they hold Gujo-odori dance presentations four times daily. This is the former residence of the Imai family who were wealthy merchants in what today is Mino City. Originally built in the middle of the Edo Period, it was reportedly expanded in the early Meiji Period. As paper merchants and the head of the village, they were extremely wealthy, and the house was the most splendid in the region. The Meiji Period addition included a three-meter skylight. The courtyard has an elegant suikinkutsu, used to make a special dripping sound, and has been designated as one of the Top 100 Soundscapes of Japan. Mino historic museum is at the back. Its Udatsu Kura has displays on udatsu (old roof ridges) and you can learn about Niwaka (an impromptu comic play) in its Niwaka Kura.

Mino is a small town in Gifu. the area is quite and relax. hardly to see other tourists even on Sat. Most historical buildings are located at main street. Tourist centre is the best place to buy...

This art gallery is located a 15-minute walk from Nagaragawa Railway Minoshi Station, and exhibits the Mino City’s prize-winning autumn “Mino Washi Akari Art Exhibit.” Inside the gallery, a town with udatsu walls (good for fire protection and symbolizing wealth) is reproduced in a soft and warm light through Mino washi (traditional Japanese paper). Although the work cannot be touched, you are free to take photographs. There is also a museum shop lined with highly artistic lanterns. The wooden two-stories building is a nationally registered tangible cultural property since it is a valuable structure that is as it was in the early Showa era (1926-1989).

The Akari Art Hall had many really amazing lanterns! You are allowed to take pictures inside so now my camera is filled with photos of the lanterns!! They are all handmade with Washi and are all lit...

This museum is located about 20 minutes from the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway Mino Interchange via National Route 156 and Prefectural Route 81. The museum introduces from various perspectives the world of Shisai style paper patchwork, with its traditions and hidden possibilities for the future, and history and techniques of Mino washi traditional Japanese paper passed down in the Mino area. The first exhibition room introduces the production areas of washi paper throughout Japan, history of washi, and papermaking technology. In the second exhibition room, they give concrete suggestions about practical uses of washi paper in everyday living spaces. In addition, you can also have a “papermaking experience” using authentic tools and natural ingredients in the workshop.

Nice Museum located in Mino City, Gifu Prefecture. But i think it should have more papers and paper exhibits on display. They had very few.

This private museum centered on tea ceremony items is located a 20-minute walk from Nagara Railway’s Gujo-Hachiman Station in Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture. It exhibits countless family treasures such as the tea bowl “Ayase” and incense container “Koshi Zakuro” that have been appraised, and were collected over 270 years by the heads of the Saito family, who had deep relationships with the feudal lord of Gujo. While gazing at the courtyard that rings with the clear sound of water, you can spend a relaxing time in the adjoining cafe that serves matcha green tea. In addition, they also sell traditional Japanese miscellaneous goods.

"A complex of Western-style buildings near the Former Gujo Hachiman Government Building Memorial Hall, about a five-minute drive from Gujo Hachiman Station. Originally built in 1904, it was a private hospital known as ""Hayashi Ryoin."" It is currently used as an art gallery, exhibition room, and folklore reference room, as well as a place for cultural creativity and cultural exchange in Gujo Hachiman. Of the four structures, the main building, nurse's dormitory, and X-ray building are all nationally registered Cultural Properties. The main building, with a truss structure and plastered walls, has the same feel as when it was built. The nurse's dormitory to the left of the main building was built with material from an Edo period foot soldier's residence."

Appreciate the enthusiasm and dedication of the guides at this place to share their local culture. Good place to learn some Japanese Folk dances.
