    A well-known sweet making shop known as Misuzuame which has long been popular as a Shinshu confection. Using traditional methods unchanged for years the sweets are made with the real fruit flavors intact without the use of any added coloring, artificial flavoring or preservatives. As well as the dried jelly candy, Misuzuame, made with agar and starch syrup, the shop also sells a range of jams and jelly. The building, built in 1924, has been designated as a registered tangible cultural asset. The interior of the store has been created with a fusion of Japanese and Western styles, and decorated with modern furniture. The shop is located a short distance from Ueda Station making it a key city landmark.

    A shop selling obanyaki (a pancake-like flour dough bun with a sweet filling) located in Chuo, Ueda City. The shop's signature obanyaki have been a local favorite for some 80 years and come in two varieties-anko (red bean jam) and custard. Despite the shop's name, the shop does not serve regular ice cream (but does sell soft serve ice cream).

    A Japanese confectionary shop established in 1869 located in Chuo, Ueda City. The shop's dango dumplings are particularly popular and are made with unsparing care using old-fashioned mills and mallets and top class joshinko rice flour blended according to the weather and other factors. In addition to standard Japanese confections like manju buns, ohagi rice cakes, and oyaki dumplings, the shop also sells seasonal sweets such as strawberry daifuku rice cakes in the spring.

    今はあまりない駄菓子屋さんです。昔ながらのお菓子がまだ沢山売られており、子供も大人も楽しめます。 ちょっと普通のスーパーよりは高い値段設定ですが、他では買えない駄菓子がいっぱいです！行くと嬉しくなります。

    半年ぶりくらいに訪れました。高齢のおじいちゃん店主？が対応してくれて、とってもほっこりしました。練り切りもいくつも種類があり、味見ができるお菓子もありました。また訪れたい和菓子屋さんです。
