    Miyagi Pref. Osakishi Narukonsen Yumoto
A caldera lake made roughly 1,200 years ago by volcanic activity, giving the surrounding area a unique sulfur scent. The lake offers a spectacularly beautiful landscape with the water changing color between various shades of blue, emerald green, and milky white depending on the weather due to the large amount of sulfur in the water. The high level of acidity of the water means no creatures live in the lake. You can enjoy this natural beauty by walking around the lake and renting a boat.
