    The Nikka Whisky Sendai Plant is second only to the Yoichi Distillery among Nikka’s distillation sites. The plant is located at the joint of Hirose and Nikkawa rivers. Founder Masataka Taketsuru, known by the nickname “Massan,” particularly praised the qualities of Nikkawa River, and it is said he made his decision to build a factory there immediately. At the distillery, visitors can see Nikka’s whisky production process, including touring the plant and distillation columns. There’s also whisky sampling in the guest hall, and soft drinks for those who cannot drink alcoholic beverages.

With revamped facility and factory tours for everyone from children to adults, visitors can inspect their production line while taking in their technology first hand. Visitors learn what makes factory housing unique and what it takes to make homes people want to live in for the long haul. They also have exhibits like a show that demonstrates the house siding's fireproof features. They welcome visitors looking for leisurely, well explained factory tours. There is also a fun tour that follows a quiz game format.

    This cheese studio in the Zao Dairy Center is five minutes by car from the Togatta Onsen bus stop. They make Zao cheese from high quality natural ingredients with advanced technology backed by tradition. In addition to cream cheese and aged cheeses like gouda and cheddar, they make a cheese drink with pasteurized milk and cheese whey. Their Cheese Cabin sells popular souvenirs like homemade ice cream and yogurt.
