This is a small restaurant at Omataira, Oma, Oma Town, ShimokitaCounty. The eatery specializes in locally caught tuna and seafood entrees and combo meals such as the tri-color tuna donburi bowl, or the tri-color tuna combo meal, which includes fatty tuna and medium-fatty tuna, and the seafood donburi bowl or combo meals, and also offers entrees. From July through December, the tuna catching season, one may have the chance to watch a whole tuna being cut and prepared.

Aomori Kamikita-gun Rokkashomura

So as to preserve and maintain the many precious ruins and relics from the early to late Jomon period discovered in Rokkasho Village where there are a lot of prehistoric ruins, the museum was established in 1991. Earthenware from different periods of the Jomon period are on display, and using dioramas, they reconstruct hunting scenes, and how people lived (in full size) in (half size) pit dwellings. They also have introductions to materials on folk customs, special exhibitions and hands-on learning experiences.

六ヶ所村の中部、尾駮地区にある博物館です。もっぱら六ヶ所村の地理や歴史についての展示があります。展示はなかなか充実しており、これで入館料が無料というのは申し訳なく感じるほどです。

All of the Kushihiki Hachimangu Shrine, the general guardian of the Nanbu clan, is registered as an Important Cultural Property which includes Akaito Odoshi Yoroi (odoshi armor with red strings; National Treasure). There is also a National Treasure Museum which holds and exhibits 25 National Cultural Properties, and the elderly cedar trees hundreds of years old on the grounds are also a highlight. Trying on armor or shrine maiden costumes can be enjoyed by parents and children alike and is popular. It is approximately 10 minutes by car from JR Hachinohe Station.

Miroku Yokocho is a food stall, (or “yatai” in Japanese) village located between Mikka Town and Muika Town in Hachinohe City. The village is packed full of food stalls selling all sorts of food such as local cuisine, seafood, meat, oden, skewer grilled food, ramen, and western-style food. Miroku Yokocho gets its name from the fact that it runs through Mikka Town (“mi” meaning “three”) and Muika Town (“mui”, or “roku”, meaning “6”).

This gelato is hand-made each day from the rich milk of the Jersey cows reared freely and milked each morning on the shop’s farm. Seasonal fruit and vegetable flavors are particularly popular. The shop only uses its own home-grown fresh vegetables and local produce and offers limited availability and seasonal menus. Limited availability items may become unavailable once they have sold out so if you find a flavor you like, you had better go for it! It is around 17 minutes by car from Kamikitacho Station on the Aoimori Railway.

An old Western-style structure located on the grounds of the Maritime Self Defense Forces Ominato District Command. A stately stone building built in 1916 as a social hall for naval officers, today the facility is used to display historical items and materials relating to the former Japanese Navy and the Self Defense Forces. The building has also been selected as an excellent example of architecture dating to Japan's Taisho and Showa periods.

You can enter the rape field in the maze and view the rape blossoms from the field, or enjoy the beauty of the rape blossom field from the observation deck within the maze."

This coastline is part of Sanriku Fukko (reconstruction) National Park, and is one of Japan’s most famous sights. The beautiful coastline and unusual rock and reef formations create a spectacle well worth seeing. There are many well-maintained trails, including the Kaigan Tansho Hodo, one of Japan’s 100 foremost trails. These offer a full taste of the natural beauty of the area through all four seasons. There is also a popular campground open April to October every year.

Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture

This island of about 1.8 hectares is famous as a black-tailed gull breeding ground. This is the only place to see black-tailed gulls building nests in Japan, and it allows up-close sights of chicks as well. The island was designated a National Natural Monument in 1922. From 1942 to 43, the former Imperial Navy worked to connect the island to the mainland. During the nesting season in mid-March every year, several tens of thousands of gulls come from the south, covering the island completely.

Aomori Misawa-shi Sabishirotai 116-2955

This museum collects local cultural assets, and also stores and exhibits them. They have on display northern Japan's oldest clay figures, the Noguchi collection centered on red lacquered earthenware from the last part of the Jomon period, prehistorical excavations from Misawa City, and ancient artifacts. They also have a ton of other content including presentations on the damage caused by the Sanriku earthquake and tsunami and the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, mounted animals and photos of plants and animals seen at Lake Ogawara and the lakeshore, as well as fishing gear from fishing in the inland waters and off the coast of the Pacific Ocean, horse gear, farming tools, farming clothes and tools from daily life.

三沢市の小川原湖近くにある民俗資料館です。三沢市の歴史、自然、民俗などについての展示があります。入場料は格安ですが、展示はなかなか充実しています。隣にある寺山修司記念館と併せて訪問するのが良いかと思います。

This municipal park is located in Shirikama, Kohiradatenouchi, Tanabu, Mutsu City on land jutting into Lake Hayagake. Facilities include an outdoor stage, and it's adjacent to the Hayakake Lakeside Hill Camping Ground. It's a popular cherry blossom viewing spot with double-flowered cherry and Yoshino cherry, as well as late-blooming Gyoiko cherry. It hosts the Mutsu Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring. The park's also a good spot to view the colorful foliage in autumn.

GWにお邪魔しました。人は多かったのですが20分くらいで案内されました。マグロ丼3000円を注文。大トロ三切、中トロ三か四切、赤身三切、ご飯たっぷり。安くはないが東京でこの価格では食べられない。とっても美味しく頂きました。
