  It is a small temple near Sanjusangendo. Its gate like a Chinese temple is remarkable. This place used to be a palace of Emperor Emeritus Goshirakawa. His mausoleum is just behind this temple.

  I visited the place as it is just across Sanjusangendo Hall. It has absolutely nothing special, but the visit will only take you about 10 minutes. If you want to see what a non-touristic temple looks...

  Small temple, ran into geishas outside. Nice pine tree outside of the building with a huge branch. Small store inside selling Buddhist beads etc. Not a ton of explanation, but great to soak it all...
