Saigoyama Park
"A park located a 15-minute walk from Daikanyama Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. ""Saigoyama"" means ""Saigo's Mountain"" or ""Mt. Saigo"" and is derived from an estate which was built here and purchased by Saigo Judo for his famous older brother Saigo Takamori. After being sold and then experiencing an air-raid bombing, the site was eventually turned into a park. Highlights include a 20-meter-tall artificial waterfall built using a hill in the park, a memorial tree and lava boulder from Sakurajima, a large grass lawn, and observatory, and the park is a great destination for families to take their children to play. On clear winter days, visitors can see all the way to Mt. Fuji."
