- The Heike clan built this bridge about 800 years ago in order to get access to their horse-riding grounds in Mt. Tsurugi for training. It is also called the “male bridge, female bridge” and the “couple’s bridge” as there are two vine bridges which run in parallel beside each other. Immediately upstream of the female bridge, there is a “wild monkey” rope bridge where you traverse the valley by pulling the rope manually—it will be a valuable experience.
