- Oita Pref. Kusugunkokonoemachi Tano 1208
- A bridge 173 meters high and 390 meters long. Completed in 2006, it is the longest pedestrian bridge in Japan. The scenery from the bridge is, in a word, superb, and those traversing its length can get sweeping views of such sights as Narukogawa Ravine and a stunning Shindo-no-taki waterfall, with larger and smaller sub-waterfalls. Visiting in fall to see the autumn foliage is particularly recommended.

- Oita Nakatsu-shi Honyabakeimachi Sogi
- "A bridge located in Sogi, Honyabakei-machi, Nakatsu City. Spanning the Yamakuni River, this is Japan's only eight-arch stone arch bridge and, at 116 meters in length, it is also the longest stone arch bridge in the country. Because it employs a type of masonry frequently used to build bridges in Nagasaki Prefecture, it is also known as the ""Dutch Bridge."" The bridge has been designated a Tangible Cultural Property by the prefecture."

Oita Areas
A trip to Oita is tantamount to a long soak in the Beppu baths. The mountainous, coastal prefecture of Oita is renowned for having more onsen than any other prefecture in Japan, most of which lie in the city of Beppu on the west coast of Kyushu, recognizable by its pungent sulphuric aroma and the clouds of steam that puff up across the hillside. Away from the Beppu hot springs await mountains, waterfalls, and temples, so don’t hesitate to explore Oita a little further.
