    Okayama Kurashiki-shi Honmachi 11-20
An 18-minute walk from JR Kurashiki Station. This second-hand bookstore is tucked away on Honmachi-dori Street which cuts an arc east-west at the foothill of Mt. Tsurugata, north of Kurashiki River in Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. Operating out of a renovated classic townhome built over 100 years prior they offer second-hand books from a variety of genres including natural sciences, Japanese literature, and the Okayama Bunko series. They also offer new publications and CDs from authors and publishers that are friends with the owner. There are also books written by Tanaka Miho, owner and moss enthusiast, including 'Koke to Aruku' (Walking with Moss) and 'My Little Second-hand Bookstore'.

Okayama Areas

around-area-map

Overshadowed by Hiroshima to the west and the Kansai region to the east, Okayama is an easy spot to miss but a nature-rich gem where the Seto Inland Sea laps at its toes and peach and grape farms complete its interior. One of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, Koraku-en in Okayama city is well worth a visit before progressing to Kurashiki, where preserved wooden Edo buildings line the picturesque canal.
