This is a cheese and cheesecake specialist in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and in its simple modern Western-style interior is enshrined a statue of Kannon. The Denmark cheesecake, long loved in the streets of Kobe, is a blend of raw cheese said to come from the oldest recipe. Each one is an exquisite masterpiece, boasting a fresh-baked texture and rich-bodied flavor. The alcohol-free mild cheese fondue is also popular, with flavors including curry and basil. The cheesecake is also available for takeout.

This is not the “usual” cheesecake that most people are familiar with. It’s melted Denmark cheese on a sponge cake. Nevertheless, the cheesecake is delightful and easy on the palate. There are no...

A pancake restaurant located not far from the Seianmon Gate, a top tourist attraction. In addition to chocolate banana, cinnamon apple, and other sweet pancake varieties, the restaurant also has savory pancakes which go great with a salad like bacon and onion and margherita. The restaurant also makes its own sauces and syrups. Many of the items on the menu are limited time selections which incorporate an abundance of seasonal fruits like strawberries and mangoes.

From buttery, honey-flavored plain and chocolate waffles to seasonal waffles, the shop offers a wide selection of waffles fresh off the press that are crisp on the outside and moist and fluffy on the inside. The waffle and whipped cream sandwich series is particularly popular. The shop's pearl sugar is right from Belgium, while the shop's secret waffle ingredient, a pinch of salt, is sea salt from Kudaka Island in Okinawa Prefecture.

This is a shop of old Turin, Italy chocolate producer Caffarel known for its Gianduja chocolate which uses luxurious amounts of hazelnut. Inside on the shelves and in the showcase are baked sweets and desserts with Gianduja, popular also as gifts. The cute, colorful foil designs are part of Caffarel’s charms, and the Kinoko Pot mushroom design chocolate assortment is particularly popular. One can try fruit-topped sweets right at the in-store cafe space. The nearest station is Motomachi Station.

This cafe operates out of a detached building a two- or three-minute walk from JR Suma Station. Situated on the coast and identifiable by its stylish exterior, the restaurant serves drinks, desserts, and foods carefully crafted by the owner. For lunch, you can choose between things like Hayashi rice, breaded and deep-fried horse mackerel, and cutlet sandwiches. Inside the open and airy establishment, you can take in a view of the coast of Suma sprawling just outside. On sunny days, many local residents stop by here while taking a walk on the coast. Vehicles are not allowed to drive on the coast, so if you're coming by car, you must make use of the toll parking lot on the north side of the nearby railway tracks.
