- This variety shop in the Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings of Sanmachi has a large bird cage as a landmark. The expansive shop is packed with items depicting living things like animals and birds. Ranging from accessories you might buy on a whim to fancy items for your home, time flies just looking each item over. Their frog figurines in human poses are popular. They also have a gallery and a cafe area in an old warehouse that’s great for a break with some sweets.

人が並んでいたので食べたのですが、なるほど並ぶだけあって飛騨牛のにぎりは絶品でした。塩と醤油がありますが、塩を選んでみましたが、塩が肉本来の味を引き立てて居ました。

店内はカラフルで綺麗なお店です。一番気に入ったのは友禅の柄のポチ袋に入った匂い袋です。品名が英語・日本語・中国語と併記しており、外国人観光客に優しいお店です。でも外観は、こげ茶のモノトーンの高山らしい外観です。

Matsuda Ryocho, a netsuke carver who lived at the end of the Edo period and invented techniques for yew woodcarving. Tsuda Sculptures continues this tradition and has won prizes in several competitions. The shop's merchandise includes decorative items, such as sculptures of the Chinese zodiac or Takasago, No drama masks such as a mask of a female demon, tea ceremony implements, and accessories such as pendants or brooches. Traditional netsuke in every price range are also available.

The shop’s wide assortment includes plastic earrings, wood accessories, cloth items, baby goods, ceramics, glass pieces, illustrations, and even watches and timepieces. - This accessories shop centered on rabbit goods is located in the middle of the Hida Takayama townscape. While purchasing various products themed on rabbits, regardless of the material or purpose, the red bunny doll called Ubobo that was invented by the shop owner is a Takayama specialty that can only be bought here. Creating them with hopes for easy childbirth and to invite happiness, the shop offers netsuke (miniature carved Japanese ornament), oil blotting paper and other items besides Ubobo dolls. Their original products, such as a towel handkerchief called Usami and a collagen face wash towel, are extremely popular as souvenirs. In addition, they also hold regular storehouse exhibitions.

- A craft shop located a 20 minute walk from JR Takayama Station operated by the Takayama City-based “Kochi” husband and wife woodcraft team. The shop sells wood interior decorations crafted by the owners as well as stationary and other small items, in addition to ceramics and glass pieces handcrafted by young artists. The shop’s simple interior, accented with warm woods, is stocked with items to make daily life a little more fun, such as crescent moon-shaped single flower vases made of walnut and white ash, and small wooden Christmas trees which make use of the natural wood grain to enhance their appearance.
