    A Japanese confectionary shop famous for its Enoden monaka (wafer cakes filled with sweet adzuki bean jam), which feature an Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden) train on the package. The front of the shop incorporates a portion of a real Enoshima Electric Railway train, serving as the shop’s symbol. The monaka are available with five different bean jams—yuzu, ume (Japanese plum), sesame seed, strained bean, and coarse bean. It’s 130 yen for one monaka, but there’s also a set of 10 for 1,300 yen which comes in a box modeled after Fujisawa Station, perfect to give as a souvenir. The shop also offers a variety of other Japanese sweets, including kuzu-zakura (bean jam covered with kudzu starch jelly and wrapped in a cherry tree leaf), dorayaki (bean jam between two soft cakes) for 130 yen, and kabocha manju (sweet kabocha squash dumplings) for 100 yen.

    江ノ島駅をすぎると大きな道路と線路が交差しているのに遮断機がない交差点の前にこちらのお店があります。龍口寺も近くにありますので、観光スポットです。

    Inoueso is a cafe and traditional Japanese sweets store that handmake their own meoto manju buns and waffle shells. Try their specialty white koshian adzuki bean buns and their homemade rikyu buns (tea buns) that use sweet dark molasses. All of their adzuki red-bean and non-bean-based sweets are incredibly popular.

    江ノ島神社の参道の中程。店内にはテーブル二席のこじんまりしたカフェスペースがあり、蒸かしたての饅頭や甘酒がいただけます。貝最中はつぶあん、こしあん、白あんがあり、詰め合わせセットでも好きな味を選んで詰め合わせをしてくれます。最中は一口サイズで形は4種類。女将さんはとても話好きないい方です。

    外側は柔らかい生地ではなく密な舌触りで、故に中にたっぷりと詰め込まれた漉し餡の重さをしっかり支えています。それでいて平な形に抑えてあるので重すぎず、もう一個ほしくなります。重厚さと軽さのバランスの良さを吉田首相も気に入られたのでしょうか？昔の政治家はそうであったように。

    A seven-minute bus ride from the south exit of Hiratsuka Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line. This Japanese sweet shop offers treats that really bring you in touch with the culture of Shonan and Hiratsuka. They make a large number of sweets that weave together the local Hiratsuka culture and natural features with the seasons. In addition to traditional sweets popular at tea ceremonies they also make confections and well-known desserts using newer ingredients such as fresh whipped cream and butter. They also sell a number of treats that are fun to look at and make great souvenirs including Shonan Whitebait Pie made with local dried whitebait and Shonan Boy, a dorayaki red-bean-paste stuffed pancake in the shape of a surfboard.

    西海岸商店街にある和菓子屋さん。今では商店街にある唯一の和菓子屋さん。お味はなかなかなもので、平塚駅の駅ビル『ラスカ』にも出店されています。

    GW中ですからね、なるべく多く母のところへ行ってあげたい。 今日のお土産持参品は銀座あけぼののスイーツ、「銀座メロン」。 考えたらよくわからない商品ですが、ふわふわの生地にメロンクリームが入っていて美味しかった。 今日は風も少しありましたが、外を散歩しました。

    開業当初の大行列が嘘のように今は落ち着いています。近くにライバル？のビアードパパができたからかな。 もっとも行列の原因の７割くらいはレジと袋詰めの連携の非効率さですね。 定番以外に季節限定の味があるので、たまに買ってリーズナブルなおやつとして楽しんでいます。

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
