Sugahara Glassworks Inc. is a workshop that produces painstakingly handmade glass products. Visitors who make reservations can learn or experience different methods of glassmaking for themselves: marvering, in which 1200°C molten glass is spread over a flat surface with a spatula-like tool; pair marvering, in which two people work together; and blowing, in which the glassmaker blows into a pipe to expand the molten glass. (There is a limit to the number of participants in each course, so reservation is required.) Sugahara Glassworks also has an onsite shop, where nearly all its products are for sale, and a cafe, where visitors can enjoy sweets that are made onsite and served in glassware.

Chiba Areas

around-area-map

The Boso Peninsula forms the main body of Chiba prefecture, and this is where you’ll find its endless warm water beaches and jagged mountains. Further inland, Narita - most famous as the home of Narita Airport - is a secret haven of tradition and history in the form of centuries-old Shinshoji Temple and quaint wooden Edo buildings. Chiba prefecture is also home to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
