An aquarium park with animal performances and displays recreating natural habitats where you can come in contact with the ocean and learn the importance of the environment in which its creatures live. This stunning and vast aquarium facility boasts 16 areas and the vibrant orca and dolphin shows are popular with adults as well as children. Watch out for the sprays of water during the performances! Be sure to bring a disposable raincoat or vinyl sheet if you don’t want to get wet.

The concrete pens weren’t so clean and in my opinion it’s sad to see these cetaceans which were forcefully taken from the wild in Taiji, trained to perform for humans. Some had what appeared to have...

Tanjoji Temple was built in 1276 in the present-day Kominato area of the city of Kamogawa, the birthplace of Nichiren, the founder of Nichiren Buddhism. It was moved to its present location after an earthquake in 1703. In 1758, a fire destroyed all the temple buildings except Niomon Gate. This surviving structure has been designated a Prefectural Tangible Cultural Property. On February 16 of each year, a festival called Shuso Goko Tan-e is held to commemorate Nichiren's birthday. A portable shrine with an image of Nichiren as a child is carried around in a procession called O-Neri Gyoretsu.

This is the Buddhist temple of the Nichiren sect built in the place where Nichiren was born. This is a sacred place located in Kominato, in Southern Chiba, facing the Pacific Ocean. Nichiren was born...

The museum exhibits artifacts related to it, like armor, antique equipment, and ancient documents, as well as materials on life in samurai society and the castle town. This observatory is in Kaisuka, Kamogawa City. At about 110 meters above sea level, it has great views of the Kamogawa City nightscape and sunrise over the Pacific Ocean. The name Uomizuka comes from fishermen who once watched for schools of fish from there. Gyofu, the statue of the goddess on the top, is the observatory's symbol.

This sightseeing boat lets you get a good look at the tai red sea bream in “Tainoura Tai Habitat” —a Special Natural Monument. Open every day of the year. One fun trip is about 25 minutes. About five minutes southeast through the Uchiura Bay from the ferry port near Tanjo-ji Temple, there is a narrow region of water where the sea bream live in the shallows 10-30 meters down. You may even see them eating up the food that people throw in to them.

Established in 1954, Ezawa is the birthplace of Katsuura style dandan noodles. With its soy-sauce based broth, original rayu chili oil, and flavorful toppings, these satisfying noodles are rich and spicy. The shop closes when it runs out of broth, so be sure to come early!

Statues with a moon motif memorializing the song have been installed on the beach. In addition to a beachside clubhouse in summer, it hosts various events such as fireworks displays and beach volleyball competitions. It gets packed with beach goers at these times.

Emanating a simple, warm atmosphere, in addition to tourism info, there’s also a farm fresh shop frequented by local chefs, and a restaurant where you can enjoy unique, delicious dishes prepared by the hands of local mothers. During white bamboo shoot season from April to early May, the restaurant serves a white bamboo shoot gozen meal limited to just 20 meals per day.

Kodama Family Restaurant was founded in 1965 and is operated by a butcher shop. In addition to noodles, it serves a wide variety of rice dishes and prix fixe meals. It is famous for its cheap, delicious, and generously portioned Dandan Noodles, and its Katsu Raisu (pork cutlet on rice) and Yakiniku Raisu (grilled meat on rice) are also recommended. The broth for the Dandan Noodles is bright red, but it is not all that spicy. Instead, it is slightly sweet with a rich, savory flavor.

    こだまさんのタンタン麺はマイルドでそんなに辛くなかったです。清海学園のオートキャンプ場の帰りに食べて行きました。
