The shop offers the ""Goyotei Cheesecake"" popular for its moist and rich flavor, various baked sweets with a focus on cheese, cheeses from around the world and Japan, wines, and other products. In addition, the attached cafe offers snacks such as pizza and drinks such as lemon squash, making it a great spot to take a break."

    This place keeps getting better. Definitely, one of the must dos when in Nasu Kogen. The samples are delicious as are any of the items for sale. They have added soft-serve ice cream as well.

They use carefully selected Hokkaido red beans for their home-made Hot Spring Manju Dumplings and Fried Manju Dumplings. There's an eat-in space available and you can try the local specialty, Toteyaki, which has a crepe like appearance. Very popular with the tourists.

    塩原温泉の中心部にある老舗の和菓子店。小さいですが、国道沿いで、駐車場もあり、便利です。北海道小豆を使用しており、てづくりで、手が込んでいます。温泉饅頭は、つぶあんがぎっしりとつまっていて、ほどよい甘さに、満足しました。

    場所は道の駅の向かい側。ラスクの種類が多く、試食もできる。カフェも併設されているので、コーヒーも飲める。ジェラートも美味しい。

    Nasu’s homemade miso and sake shop. The place opened after branching out from the long-established sake shop in Nasu Yumoto, Tsukii. Several kinds of miso in reasonable sizes are sold such as malted rice miso, barley yeast miso, and miso made with both rice and wheat. And depending on the season, amazake (sweet mild sake) made with handmade yeast is also sold. The sake which they sell is of course all local Nasu sake. In the refrigerator also are some namazake (unpasteurized sake) only available locally.

    This butcher shop crafts sausages by hand using choice meats in the invigorating air of Nasu Highland. Located 15 minutes from the Nasu Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway, the shop makes healthy sausages without the use of any preservatives whatsoever. Because it is a small time shop, the establishment can take the time to carefully craft its fresh, flavorful sausages by hand, with limited use of additives. In the shop's eat-in space, you can enjoy foods such as a sausage assortment, roast beef salad, or hot dog set.

The variety cheeses they produce one by one include flavors like smoked and black pepper. Their original cheeses in unique flavors like ume shiso, wasabi, and mentaiko pollack roe make great gifts. The popular Tamari-zuke Cheese is made by pickling it in their house soy sauce flavored seasoning. It's been featured on TV many times.

Most visits to Tochigi revolve around Nikko, a small city home to the spectacular, lavishly decorated Toshogu Shrine and Nikko National Park with its mountains, lakes, waterfalls, onsen, and wild monkeys.
