Tsukiyomi-no-miya

Shrine
The God Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto, who controls the phases of the moon and governs over the calendar, is enshrined here at Tsukiyomi-no-miya, an associated shrine of Inner Ise Shrine. After the gods Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto gave birth to the Sun Goddess Amaterasu they then gave birth to Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto. Tsukiyomi is said to be one of the pillars of the gods. Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto was entrusted with governing the night world. The shrine is about a 10-minute walk from Isuzugawa Station on the Kintetsu Toba Line.
