- (Provided by service)This eel restaurant is located on the 10th floor of the South Building of Matsuzakaya department store in Naka Ward, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. The main location which registered the trademark for the “hitsumabushi” eel dish, has been around since 1873. They use specially selected high-quality eel and grill each one carefully over Kishu Bincho charcoal with their secret sauce that has been passed down over the years. The first bowl is usually eaten as-is; the second with spices; the third with tea poured over it; and the fourth however one pleases. The “unagi kaiseki” (eel banquet) is great for special gatherings.

The brightly lit interior is designed around the concept of ""cute treats and Japanese knickknacks"" and focuses on traditional treats like konpeito candy and boro cookies. The konpeito have a very mild fruit aroma, and are a long-time favorite. They're also popular for the clear cases and packaging fitted to the cat, rabbit, and goldfish contents. The baby-safe, additive-free boro cookies and Japanese marshmallows with chick and piglet decorations are great souvenirs."

- 14:14
- 30min
- (Provided by service)One of Higashiyama’s most famous tourist spots, this steep stone paved 100 meter hill road leads from Yasaka to the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The hill is also called Sanneizaka. There are many theories as to its derivation, but based on the characters which comprise it (meaning “to give birth” and “preference,” it is widely believed that it gained this name from the parishioners climbing it to reach the Koyasu-no-to and pray for a safe childbirth.
