Have a bite at a shop selling kushiage (fried vegetable and meat skewers) or okonomiyaki (savory pancakes filled with meat and vegetables), Osaka specialties. This brilliant architecture was a symbol of Kitayama culture but burned down in a 1950 fire, then was rebuilt in 1955. In 1994 it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Fuji and flavored with two varieties domestic mugwort. In the spring the shop also sells sakura mochi (rice cake with bean paste wrapped in a pickled cherry leaf), a seasonal exclusive. We also recommend their soft-serve ice cream, which comes in flavors including white peach and Hakkai Ramune. Lavender flavor is also available during certain parts of the year.
