This well established chicken restaurant on Nakadori Street, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture was founded in 1951. It is said to be where the Kure specialty of miso-daki, carefully prepared chicken skin simmered in lots of miso, originated from. The slowly simmered chicken skin has a soft, melty texture which goes really well with a glass of sake. As well as yakitori (grilled chicken), guests can also taste seasonal local foods such as seafood from Setouchi and oysters, another classic dish. Managed by a husband and wife couple, the restaurant has a cozy feel with seating at the counter or on tatami mats.

呉の歓楽街にある老舗居酒屋さん。呉には生け簀のあり魚を出す焼き鳥が多く、こちらも以前は生け簀をやっていましたが、今はやっていなくて残念でした。焼き鳥はなかなか旨かったです。

JR呉線呉駅から徒歩10分位、川沿いにある焼き鳥店です。開店直後に入店しましたが、カウンターには予約席の札が並んでいました。吉田類さんも訪問したとのことで、期待して訪問しましたが、焼き鳥の鶏肉には旨味が一切感じられませんでした。冷凍で、解凍時に旨味が抜けたのかな。がっかりでした。

「みそだき」というのを初めて食べました。鶏皮の味噌煮込みで、トロトロで柔らかく、味はこってりで、姿は串に刺さった焼き鳥風（笑）。甘めの味付けが美味しかったです。他の焼き鳥や串揚げも美味いです。〆のオムライスは昔風のケチャップ味で大満足でした。
