意外にも立派なお寺です。本堂は国宝です。

７０番礼所です。観音寺でレンタサイクルを借りて行きました。遠くから五重塔を目標にたどりつきました。寺の境内は広く、立派な寺院です。本堂は四国では珍しい国宝でした。長宗我部元親がこの寺の住職を切り捨てたときに血の涙を流したという阿弥陀仏を見たかったのですが、お寺の人に聞いたら、秘宝なので普段は公開していないとのこと。ちなみに鑑定調査をしたら、その阿弥陀仏には血痕が多く残っていたそうです。
