후키지 절

분고타카다시의 현도 655선을 따라 조용히 자리잡은 천태종의 사원. 헤이안 시대에 우사진구 신궁 대궁사의 가문을 위한 신사로서 시작되었으며, 본존인 목조 아미타여래 좌상은 중요 문화재로 지정되어 있다. 경내의 후키지 오도는 우지 뵤도인 사원 호오도, 히라이즈미 주손지 절 곤지키도와 함께 일본 3대 아미타당의 하나로 꼽히며, 국보로 지정된 규슈에서 가장 오래된 목조 건축물이다. 후키지 오도와 인접한 여암(旅庵) '후키노토'는 느긋하게 보내고 싶은 사람에게 추천한다.

Beautiful amazingly preserved temple, well not entirely - there are spots on the walls with graffiti made by local kids who used it as their playground in the 1950s but it makes it all the more...
