• CENTRAL GOLDEN HALL; So many fires! good history

  This is the biggest temple in Nara Park, you can purchase a ticket just outside of its gate. It is really beautiful inside but you cannot take pictures.

  The treasure hall was next to the 5 storey pagoda. Entry fee required but you could see the impressive Buddhist relics and statues displays inside the hall. Worth the visit.

  The fact that these carvings and casts have survived all these years is truly amazing. So many must have been lost in temple fires that happened over the centuries. Entry ticket for an additional sum...
