赤穂義士のお寺として知られる花岳寺の境内のみ参拝しました。義士墓所・義士宝物館・義士木像堂は、400円の拝観料が必要です。境内には、見事な二代目名残の松などの見所があり、初代名残の松の幹は千手堂の中にありました。また、山門は赤穂城の西惣門を移築したものでした。

家内の好きなドウダンツツジを見に行きました。お寺自体は小さく、1本の大きなドウダンツツジ以外には見るものはありません。家内は念願が叶ったと言って喜んでいましたが、私には今一つでした。

浄土真宗西本願寺本派のお寺ですが、お寺っぽくないモダンな建物なので、地元ではモダン寺と呼ばれています。 JR神戸から東行きの電車に乗ると車窓からチラッと見えますが、近くまで行くととても大きく立派な建物です。自由に参拝できます。

GWに訪れました。県道から仁王門が見え、そこから狭い道を少し進むと無料の駐車場があります。石段を登り朱色の中門で拝観料を支払います。江戸初期に再建された三重塔は新緑のモミジの中に映えます。正面の階段を上ると国宝の本堂があります。それほど大きなものではないですが、鎌倉時代に建立された朱色の建物で、本尊の薬師如来像や十一面観音像を安置しています。周辺には塔頭もあり、往時の規模を伺えます。新緑や紅葉の季...
